PS3 Crysis 2 multiplayer demo pulled

The PlayStation 3 multiplayer teaser of Crysis 2 is to be taken offline today as Electronic Arts attempts to iron out a number of issues with the demo, the publisher has confirmed.

Writing on the official Crysis forums, a company employee gives mention to “server connection delays,” before assuring fans that the issue has been identified and will be stamped out to allow for a “flawless” launch for Crysis 2 next week.

"Though many gamers have had a great experience playing the demo, we are aware that others have been experiencing server connection delays,” the post reads.

“We’ve identified the root cause and have decided to close the PS3 demo in the next 24 hours to ensure all issues are resolved when the game launches next week. Our priority is to ensure that the final product is flawless at launch.”

This isn’t the first time the PS3 version of the sci-fi shooter’s come under the spotlight this week, either.

Internet gossip has been rife as of late claiming the PS3 version runs a little sloppy in comparison to its Xbox 360 counterpart, prompting Crytek’s Nathan Camarillo to challenge folk to find any “meaningful difference” between the two.
