Sony has rolled out PlayStation 3 Firmware v3.01 overnight, which "improves system stability during use of some PlayStation 3 format software."
Essentially, this means that any problems you may have encountered when playing Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune (among others) have now been rectified. In case you've been out of the loop, numerous users filed reports of the game crashing at regular intervals after installing Firmware 3.0 on their consoles.
"Yes, this will fix the issues that some users have experienced with Uncharted: Drake's Fortune,” commented PlayStation Network operations director, Eric Lempel.

I didn't have any problems playing Uncharted, you think it's still worth downloading it?

I guess I was one of the lucky ones and never experienced any problems. I am glad they rectified the problem so promptly.

@14
1) Thanks for asking instead of just insulting me...
2) No, I don't like it (unless my theme/backround is also greyish/black, which is is about 60% of the time). However, there is a way to get our message through to Sony--the official website or PSBlog, for starters-- without overstating displeasure(words like "abomination" and such) it and whining on about it. War is an "abomination". This is just the 150 millionth ugly UI we've ever seen in our lifetimes. It's not the end of the world.

@ All those complaining about the grey boxes:
I personally don't mind them. Yes, they may be ugly, but they certainly bring some uniformity to the sloppy mess of names that my friends list was previously comprised of. Still, I'd be a lot more satisfied if Sony provided us with a choice, such a whether to include certain aesthetical features or not, in order to truly personalise the XMB to one's liking. I've always hated the friends list's sloppiness, and the fact that it seemed to be messily arranged into one long list, with no organisation, preferring the layout of the Xbox Dashboard to the XMB myself, but at least they've attempted to logically improve the list, regardless of how disgusting it is...
I just hope they make further improvements to the XMB to give it the system the neat organisation that the Dashboard does for Xbox. That is my only problem with the XMB.

I'm glad they fixed this. Granted, this should have gone live within 48 hours of 3.0. I can't believe Sony released such sloppy firmware. They definitley aren't testing the software enough before it releases. That's the golden rule of software development. Granted, alot of third party developers are guilty as charged, but this is Sony's product, and it's not a game with bugs, it's firmware! Regardless, I'm glad they took care of business, but it shouldn't have taken this long.

Maybe this was affecting Wolfensteins MP? Who knows, but at least they updated it. I really don't mind the grey boxes, however, I wish they would give us the option to reduce the UI font size. It just seems like it's shouting at me everytime I look at it. And stop with the default startup already. I know where to find the PS store and don't need constant reminders on every column.

I just sent a complaint last night after COD4 became unplayable for me. The animations were slow and it was like I had a red bar connection when I actually had full connection (or even host). I did have visible graphical lag and even artifacts playing most of my games. It sucked. Glad its fixed.
