Last week Sony kicked off part one of its PlayStation 3 "Reflections" TV ad campaign, depicting a young boy standing in an alleyway with an image of MotorStorm Pacific Rift reflected in a nearby puddle of water.
For those of you who missed it over the weekend, the platform holder has since followed up with its second instalment in the campaign, entitled “Office Park.” This 15-second ad features a couple standing in an office park with Media Molecule's LittleBigPlanet reflecting in the windows of the buildings.
Check out the TV spot below.

i'm not sure what it is but that sackboy on the right looks like he wants to eat those two people...... and - in a very strange way - reminds me of the stay puff marshmellow man monster in ghostbusters 2. it's been a looong weekend for me :)

You know what, I'm sorry but this new angle is ridiculus they need to get somebody better thinking of these commercials whos not just looking forward to getting their paycheck. How are these commercials supposed to reach out to somone? It seems more like its a muddled message. Who do they have running that dept. a kid?

Wow, are Sony and Microsoft stupid. These commercials do nothing but show people in a daze looking half way retarded on an acid trip. I mean seriously. Has anyone seen the "Rockband" and "Guitar hero" commercials where the people look half way retarded on an acid trip then it angels to the back of their head to show some band playing. That's horrible. These commercials are horrible. They would be better off getting Stephen Colbert to endorse their consoles.

too short, too subtle, too sophisticated. is that really going to appeal to teens or families? no! Rav3nas are you serious? im a graphic designer and im quite fond, of the 360 ads, it starts of with a little mystery and then backs it up with a quirky link to the game itself and what it triggers in your imagination, microsoft have got there advertising down to a tee, and that frustrates me, as we see soooooo many 360 ads but very few sony ones! and when we do.....there like this! come on sony get your act together or you will lose another holiday season!

just8; So since you're a graphic designer that shapes how I should precieve these ads...Lol give me a break man. Their advertisement is horrible, the only viable assest to their advertising is the fact that the do is SO MUCH and pound the fact that that their console has a price drop now.
The fact is, the only reasons MS's advertisements work is because they have enough money to do them constantly. Look, Vista is a pos compared to XP, and especially compared to Leopard or any Mac OS after 10.3. However, Micrsoft thinks they can throw money at any situation and fix the problem. In Xbox 360 case it is true because Sony doesn't have near as much money as say Apple.

i completely agree! im writing this post on an osx 4 ibook which is 3 years old and beats the heck out of any microsoft carp, regardless of vista or not, all im saying is microsoft's external campaign for the 360 is alot more effective than that of the ps3, i think the ps3 ads are far to art driven and have missed the point. You say throwing money at it as if that is a bad way to go about things, but by doing that they are making multiplatform games look like xbox exclusives to anyone that dosent know there stuff (lots of younger teens and parents). but as far as marketing costs are concerned for a company like sony we are talking pennies here! (hence the graphic designer point [i wasn't trying to further validate my view]) although things are looking up.... i just saw a mirrors edge ad with the ps3 icon at the end!

It is a bad thing that they are throwing money at it...They get that money from the consumer. If the want money they get it from you and me. How do they do that? By overcharging for their accessories enourmously. For charging you a monthly fee to play online...Lol...By making proprietary software that locks developers into their systems. Take Valve for example, Valve doesn't have enough assists to do both DirectX and OpenGL graphics platforms. Therefore, Valve has to pick one. Well Valve is obviously going to pick the one that is established and blah blah blah...That being said, instead of Micrsoft choosing to go with the open way of things, the went with the closed way and created DirectX. Tons of the proprietary examples apply to their OS. This also goes for their console. They locked the developer base they already had into their console. They also lock their consumer in by forcing them to buy their EXTREMELY overpriced HDDs, that give minimal space. I can buy a 320 GB hard drive for my PS3 and it will still be cheaper than Microsoft's proprietary HDD.
