If sony wants more sales of its consoles just wait till the playsation3 mod chip comes out more consoles will be sold especially in asia and uae.

The PS3 sales are certainly good news, because it was previously difficult for Sony to sell 75,000 in a month in Japan.  If anything, this further helps Sony gain ground on Microsoft's Xbox 360. It was already outselling it at a consistent rate of 5-1 in Japan.

If they can continue this through July, it would be great. I believe that the Metal Gear Solid Bundle is that hot of a commodity. This is what Japan has been waiting for. Nevertheless, Sony has to have a plan for the end of the summer and the beginning of the fall that caters to the Japanese, in order to keep the momentum going. More news on Final Fantasy may be helpful.

obviously these numbers are high because of the mgs sales, show me the sales of last month vs wii and then we can trust this. PS is doing good on its own.

I don't think it will be long before they are back to the normal 10 - 12 thousand a week.

About time but holding that for now means little to nothing if they can't have an RPG dominant this position fully.

I always knew ps3 would come out on top. Still kinda few right now but soon there will be a problem where the PS3 will have too many great games to play. Cant compete with that.

So the PS3 outsold the 360 by about a 38:1 ratio (rounded up)

i'm down with PlayStation f a crapbox but in reality Sony and Microsoft are doing just about the same. PS3 dominating in its home Japan like crapbox dominating here in America. Sony need to take back America to take back its spot  but they haven't said how much PS3/MGS4 bundle sold yet here in the states.

Its good to see an aging console still compete but its irellevant, its good to see Sony's 2 top the sale figures. I see it either continue for a few more weeks as the word gets around that MGS IV is so great, or everyone who initially wanted the game has it now and PS3 sales for the following week will diminish back to 10k a week. PSP will still continue strong.

Dont get me wrong, I love sony. And totally support them. But the way they just sh**t on their fans outside of Japan. I mean they have all 3 different colours for PS3. They have Dual Shock 3, a billion psp colours, MGS bundles etc.. But us here in Europe, sh**t all.  And the West is where all the f**cking money lies..... They need a new manager lol..

thank you hideo kojima for letting mgs4 stay ps3 exclusive (and for making mgs4 the best game ever.) it looks like sony will deliver the final blow against the competition this fall with their incredible amount of incredible games. the question now is if FFXIII will stay exclusive and where the heck is tekken 6? (oh and i totally agree with @16.)

@HAZE, sony will never do it and i hope they never ever do it because if they do it then they are really stupid because then the hackers will start their new business on the ps3 and then sony will start losing  money .so if peoples like you in the uae wants to play a ps3 then just buy one and forget about the mod chip . SONY PLEASE NO and NO  . but doing this will mean Devs won't be looking so happy, I bet MS was p**sed when halo 3 came out 2-3 weeks early and people were playing it.

These don't always mean big console sales but it should mean big sales as people have to go and buy the software for the console and therefore Devs will like that could also mean PS3 software might come down in price rather than stay at current prices or get dearer due to piracy.
 

@loyal knight:  There's already a good PS3 home brew scene, they have the lunix system to play with so really it's not like people can't do home brew already, you have movie/mp3 type server setup software for the PS3 out all ready.
 

Hope ps3 sales continue to grow and maybe dev's will start making better efforts for thier games on ps3, they should all take a look what konami was able to do!
