PS3 games gross top dollar for EA

Nobody saw this coming.
PS3 titles have been leading Electronic Arts' software sales by a considerable amount throughout 2008, earning EA more money than software on any other platform.
Between April and June 2008, PS3 sales were 969% greater than during the same period last year. PS3 games grossed a total of $139 million (USD) during the most recent quarter, while Xbox 360 titles earned only $81 million. Perhaps now the company's recent push to bring PS3 titles up to the same standard as their 360 counterparts can be explained.
With Madden 09 releasing during the next financial quarter, EA's 360 software sales may amend themselves somewhat. Still, these figures go to show that PS3 is a platform that can provide a hefty financial reward for any Xbox 360 studio debating heading multiplatform.

@UT3Freak, I dislike them too, but if this is true this is good as that would push more developers to develop for PS3 or at least to give us decent versions of games instead of halfassed ones.

I wish Ubisoft has the same result, I really like their games more. There is a much wider selection, and much higher quality!

i hate ea but still this just shows that M$ can shove it where the sun dont shine. ps3 is a better platform and now that sony has a slightly lower price people are starting to get them. xbox 360 is just to tide people over till they can get a real console. suck it M$!

Im not going to get to technical. im not one to hold gruges but ea really has to step up and if not give the ps3 games they publish better quality then the compatition then i at least expect the same qaulity as the rest. this half a$sing to meet there own gain has to stop or the market rug under there feet will be taken by sony.

I still dont trust them. Fight night round 3 still has crappy online stabulity comparied to that on the 360. And NFS Pro Street was a crap game and an even crapyer port. for them to earn my respect they will have to make an exlusive game for PS3, like say anounce Dead Space exlusive.

Yet, EA still bites the hand that feeds them. EA's Concepts are fricken awesome but once the game is made they kind of suck. Why do you think I am not hyped about the 2 games coming out later on, everyone else is hyped but a few of us are not. The reasons are obvious.

@djduke316 Rock Band 2 comes out later on the PS3 because Microsoft bribed them. Harmonix said it themselves! They just called it a "marketing agreement"... God d*mn it , if it wasn't for EA publishing the game, it probably would release simoultaneously, and it won't take them a year to get it to EU >:(

Even if it this is true which I doubt. None of there money has came from me. All there games I have played are lame. Bad Company was the only one that was fun for a very short time. However the Battlefield games on the PC have been my among my favorites those are great, when Punkbuster works, which is never after a day or 2.

Burnout paradise is an excelent game, you shouldn't just say a game is çr@p simply because there's an EA logo on the box, it's criterion which developped the game not EA!

Maybe EA will now learn how to port ps3 properly now.
The Orange Box was a shamble.
Hopefully they will start to make more of an effort, but until then , im sorry but EA do suck major ballage.
EDIT
Burnout Paradise has been the only decent game (technically) to bare the EA mark.
But didn't Criterion use PS3 as the lead development console?

Hopefully EA will now develop for PS3 first and then port down to 360. But we all know that'll never happen.. not from EA.

I could have told you that ps3 made EA the most money. Its sad because the playstation brand has been holding down EA from day one, now they become butt buddy's with microsoft and do the madden nation and stuff giving away 100,000 and they see who has the most sales on there system. See EA, you do everything for microsoft and we the ones put up big sale. Stop giving us crappy ports and stop delaying our game and making for xbox first.
