PS3 has Xmas line-up to be "proud of" says Maguire

Sony Computer Entertainment UK Managing Director Ray Maguire has declared that the company has a Christmas software line-up “to be proud of.”
The Tokyo-based platform holder has a number of eagerly awaited software releases in the pipeline this holiday season for PlayStation 3, including the likes of Resistance 2 from Insomniac Games, Media Molecule’s LittleBigPlanet and Evolution Studios’ MotorStorm: Pacific Rift.
“I think we've never been in a stronger situation. This is the first year for me that I can sit back and think, 'yeah we've got five super strong titles'. Some of them ground breaking by creating almost a new genre and the others starting to really use the strength of the Cell chip and the graphics,” Maguire told Videogamer.com, when asked how the PS3’s line-up compares to Microsoft’s efforts with the Xbox 360.
“When I look at LittleBigPlanet, when I look at Resistance, when I look at MotorStorm, and then I look at things like Abba on SingStar, before we even get into Killzone next year, I think we've got a line-up really to be proud of."

yup omg so much game i just bought socom last week and just picked up LBP whats next RESISTANCE 2 omg so much games ggaaahh but yeah we need some RPGS..

Resistance 2, Motorstorm PR, LBP, Naruto UNS, Valkyria Chronicles (SJRPG). And in Japan they are getting WKC (JRPG) on christmas. Hopefully we can get it less than 6 months later.

it's true really they have a slew of great titles, little big planet, motorstorm pacific rift, valkyria chronicles, resistance 2, naruto ultimate ninja storm, and white knight chronicles in japan, and next years looking just as good, if not better (infamous, killzone 2, white knight chronicles US, heavy rain, gran turismo 5, the agency, ratchet and clank future sequel, DC universe online, final fantasy versus XIII, MAG, jak and daxter the lost frontier etc.)

Regardless the line up, and I will say it again, Sony needs to drop the price, esecially the condition of the market right now, a lot of people are not goin to be spending as much this year. PSN ID- Demented007

i've said it once i'll say it again. not too many people have 400 bucks to drop an a ps3 but what people can do is SAVE MONEY! save a 100 here, 200 there and within 2-3 months you have saved enough money to buy a ps3. but of course most people don't understand that concept. that's how i purchase my ps3 and it was 600 then.

Yeah we all knew from the start that there was only going to be one 'Xbox360 year' and that was 2007, this year and every year after that till nex gen will be PS3 guaranteed because SONY have loads of awesome First party titles and Microsoft have about 2... ok 1... who am I kidding they don't have any lol.

Are you idiots serious? lol Gears 2 & Fable 2 will double the sales of Resistance 2, LBP, Motor storm lol and any other exclusive coming out this year combined. Just wait and see the numbers for Nov and Dec. The 360 is going to sell waaaay more than the PS3

Yes, Sony needs to commit to finishing everything they've promised since launch. I just got an email from MS and they are launching their version of HOME november 19th. It's just funny because Sony has been talking about HOME for almost 2 years now, and MS is gonna beat them to it with their own version, and as far as I know never even mentioned anything about it. Sony is just making themselves look bad. They have a great piece of hardware, but they need to fire half of everyone involved in making business decisions, and hire people who can get the job done. I just had to laugh when I saw what MS was doing, even though it looks pretty cool and seems to offer all the features of home, not to mention they are going to beat Sony to market with it.
