PS3 outsells Xbox 360 almost 10:1 in Japan

According to the latest Media Create sales charts, the Sony PlayStation 3 has taken the number 3 spot in top consoles sales in Japan beating out both the Wii and the Xbox 360.
Japanese Hardware Sales (Nov. 5th - 11th)
- DS Lite: 78,854
- PSP: 58,964
- PS3: 55,924
- Wii: 34,546
- PS2: 9,043
- Xbox 360: 5,817
It seems as though the Xbox 360 jump in sales was only short lived, and with the price drop and release of the 40GB PS3 in Japan, sales can only get better for Sony. Also, if you live in Japan, Sony has released the new White Dualshock 3 controller allowing gamers to have rumble with their SIXAXIS.

Old news and why is it no1 this week in japan dinasty warriors, last week the xbox360 actually beat the ps3 in japan, but i can't see the ps3 continuing the big sales unfortunately has much as i would like to see it selling, no the xbox360 it's going to do worse than sony, the wii and ds are the winners by a mile in japan and with rumours circlulating that a new ds is on it's way.

oh yeah! woohoo and those dumb sales forcasters said that ps3's sales will only go down see? never listen to the nobody can predict whats gonna happen in the future, the very fabric of the market can change in a matter of days, ahh yes the 360's losing ground in the conslole wars and the more you hear of it the funnier it gets. woohoo!

This is funny. Japaneses know about electronics. If they don't buy the XBox that must be because it realy sucks!! hahaha
I hope this sales boost it's becasue of former PS2 owners that were just wating for a price cut or good games. I think thst there are a lot of those. 2008 will be the year of the PS3 with titles like MGS4, FF, Little Big Planet, KZ2 and Home, the PS3 will see a big, big leap in sales. The Console Queen will show her crown!!

I'm waiting on my PS3 Rumble Controller (white). It's being shipped. When i paid for it, it was $59.99, Now on the same site it went up to $89.99 and is on sale for $79.99. Freakin $20-$30 more.

Sadly it wont. I think things will look better from now on for the PS3 but come on it's not gonna out sell the Wii constantly for another year and a half and then it will take like another year for it to catch up in sales IF it ever does. I really wonder how long people will buy into the Wii and how long will it take Nintendo to make another console. A true next gen one with the same controls. I don't like the Wii because it's not winning because it's the best system with the best games but because everyone is so badly informed about the PS3 and 360.

Things can only get better from here. Final Fantasy is getting closer. So is MGS4. Rumble's out. The price is lower. Everything is just gravy for the PS3 right now. This is FINALLY the PS3's time to shine. Of course, Sony will NEVER be able to replicate the success of the PS2. Microsoft's 12 month head-start made sure of that but I think the PS3 will finally show that the system is far from over and will be a major player over the coming months. Now that both Mario and Halo 3 have dropped the other systems don't have much left in the way of AAA big titles. Meanwhile we have Killzone 2, MGS4, Final Fantasy XIII, LittleBigPlanet, SingStar, Home, White Knight Story, and Gran Turismo 5.

This is [i]Japan[/i]. There has only been once incident where the PS3 was outsold by the Xbox 360, and that was by an extremely small margin. The PS3 has been, for the most part, dominating the Xbox 360 there. If this was in Europe or North America then I would be impressed.

Nobody can even hope to beat the DS in Japan,ppl are addicted to it.But i just hope the ps3 addiction is not short lived.

another stat this should have mentioned is that for 5 weeks straight the ps3 has outsold the 360 everywhere except america. thats not including of course the one week in japan when ac6 was released and the 360 sold like 18,000 units barely overtaking the PS3 but all in all the ps3 is in perfect shape.
