PSN to receive maintenance tomorrow

Tomorrow, June 24, the PlayStation Network will see some downtime in order for maintenance to be done. The downtime will occur from 10 AM to 4 PM CST (4 PM to 10 PM GMT). During this period, you will not be able to access the store or play any titles online.

With Firmware 2.4 just around the bend, this could potentially have something to do with that update. We'll see in due time.

    i believe that 2.40 would have something to do with the downtime because otherwise i dont know what it would be for?

    and also..correct me if im wrong but wasnt the last time the psn network was down you were still able to play games online...thats what i remember..because now the store and online are down..so it must be more of an update

    PS3 fanboy just found out that the"Update This is just a regularly scheduled maintenance; it has absolutely nothing to do with firmware updates. We're sorry for any confusion."  So there we go not for 2.4.

    are you kidding me? they decided to do this on the day that a huge multiplayer title, battlefield bad company is coming out? wtf are they thinking...I'm all about a great performing network, and it should be done for a title like this....but shouldn't they do this today instead of tommorrow?

    Anything to make the system that we have better is a great thing. I like updates and maintenace. It really goes to show you that SONY is working hard for it true fans and if they are willing to do everything to give me a better system every month, then i'm all for it. I'LL BE A 25 YEAR OF FANBOY WHO GETS UPDATES AND MAINTENACE AT NO COST TO HAVE A BETTER SYSTEM THEN ANY OTHER OUT THERE!!!!!!

    Why does everyone keep saying they hope it's in thursday... PSN updates come thursday and firmware updates  happen on Tuesday's usually

    i dont like the way you guys are saying that this maintenance might be because of firmware 2.4... im tired of reading comments without base... dont give people false hopes.  When it is released well everyone will know for sure ;)

    this has got to involve 2.4. remember the last time we had it down? it was for hte fw that the new PS Store came in, but even than we were able to sign in and play games online, just not get on the PS Store. now we cant even play online? this is something big...

    you never know. sony does not comment on rumors....but have they ever faked us out before though?  I really dont think so.  My best guess is your best guess....and it's almost guaranteed to not be home......although that WOULD be cool.....

    tuesday June 24th does sound like a nice day to roll out FW 2.4 so idk, but im pretty sure we shall see 2.4 before july 4th. But i bet the update will take a heck of a long time to download lol.

    Mostly upset about not getting to play MGO.  I will just have to play through MGS4 again, I'm on my second play through, trying to get the stealth camo (no detections).  BF:BC comes out today too which I am getting for my xbox so I will have that to play...
