Sony is really doing a good job these days at keeping gamers informed of what is new in the PlayStation world, especially when it comes to firmware updates.
The latest information revealed on the PlayStation Blog is that firmware update version 3.95 for the PSP is not too far away. Although not releasing the full details, the few that were released are not too exciting, but do come as helpful features for PSP owners. The first feature is that the PSP will now allow you to make controller configuration adjustments to PSOne games that are played via the PSP. The other feature announced is that when you are connected to your PS3 via remote play, the PSP will now offer the option of quitting remote play and leaving your PS3 on or off.
Official details on the latest update are below:
* While playing PSone games on your PSP, you can now customize how the buttons are assigned by going to [Controller Settings] > [Assign Buttons] and select [Custom].
* You can now quit Remote Play and choose to turn off your PS3 or leave it on after quitting. This is useful if you are performing a download and want to quit Remote Play, but still want your download to continue on the PS3. Select [Quit and Turn Off the PS3 System] or [Quit Without Turning Off the PS3 System] from [Quit Remote Play] when you press the HOME button on the PSP system.

remote play via internet won't work for me. I have set it up right as the first time I tried it I turned on my PS3 using the PSP via the internet but the times I tried after that it won't connect. I have the auto log in on, auto sign into PSN on, turn on PS3 via internet for remote play is on. I can turn on the PS3 with my PSP directly but I think when I do it through the internet my PSP will connect to my router, then I sign in on my PSP but the router won't connect to my PS3. My PS3 can access the internet through my router when its on as I can go into the store or browse the web

Remote Play features are always welcome. I would like Sony to let you charge your psp while using remote play. I would appreciate that feature. As always Im very happy with firmware updates and enjoy constant updates like we have been getting. Thanks Sony.

When I first got my 60GB, I had DSL with an East Coast company I won't bother to name since it won't mean anything to you guys. I had a lot of the same remote play issues you guys did. I knew I set it up right (not hard...using online manual), but no dice. Then an accident lead me to having to get a new Linksys wireless router (same I had before) and I used the opportunity to get cable internet (which meant a new modem). I decided to try again and it worked perfectly. I think it was my ages-old first Linksys router and the UPNP settings. It just plain didn't work fo rthe remote ON/OFF for the PS3. The new one was no sweat. Hope that helps.

What they need is a feature that doesn't require you to have your PS3 in Remote Play to use RP. I should be able to exit F@H and mess with my PS3 without leaving it on RP when I leave my house. You should also be able to enter F@H from your PSP and shut off RP form there.
Expect FW 4.00 to release at the same time as 2.40 on the PS3, better known as Home.
