The competition for best racing game of 2011 roared to a halt today as one title narrowly crossed the finished line, topping the competition. This was a year without the PlayStation’s biggest exclusive racing game, but perhaps its second biggest. Then again, there were some great racing games from Ubisoft, EA, and Codemasters. The community was vocal in our competition for “Best Racing Game in 2011,” with nearly 60 votes.
The nominees for Best Racing Game of 2011 are:
Dirt 3 Developer: Codemasters Southam | Publisher: Codemasters
Driver: San Francisco Developer: Ubisoft Reflections | Publisher: Ubisoft
MotorStorm Apocalypse Developer: Evolution Studios | Publisher: Sony Computer Entertainment
F1 2011 Developer: Codemasters Birmingham | Publisher: Codemasters
Need for Speed: The Run Developer: EA Black Box | Publisher: Electronic Arts
… and the winner is:
MotorStorm Apocalypse – with 24 out of 57 community votes
MotorStorm Apocalypse narrowly beat out Dirt 3 with its epic action-driving sequences, and some killer graphics. As a PlayStation exclusive, this game showed the franchise is anything but dead. We gave this title a 9 out of 10 around its launch, and our community rating launched all the way to a 9.9 out of 10.
We would like to congratulate the team behind MotorStorm Apocalypse for creating the best racing game in 2011 as voted by the PSU community.
