Top 5 (Impossible to Order)
White Knight Chronicles
From the developers that brought you Dark Cloud and Rogue Galaxy comes a new and unique RPG title called, White Knight Chronicles. The story is about a young man who comes across an ancient artifact giving him the ability to turn into the legendary White Knight. Using this power, players will need to rid the world of evil and save a young princess.
According to reports, players will be able to fully customize their character from the start of the game, using the character create mode. Also, full voice-overs will be featured for all the characters, most likely in English and Japanese. The Battle System will provide the ability to fight in real time as well as interchange between allies to command each individually. Also, before or during battle, players can use what is called the “Battle Preparation” menu to issue orders to the other seven AI controlled team members.
Level 5 plans to make White Knight Chronicles a 50-60 hour game, giving players a full RPG experience. Bundle that with beautiful graphics, classic JRPG storytelling, and amazing gameplay, PlayStation 3 gamers will have at least one great RPG to look forward to this year.
Killzone 2
Sony fans once dubbed Killzone as the “Halo Killer”, boy were we all wrong. The first installment of this franchise was a little disappointing; however, Killzone 2 developed by Guerilla Games is shaping up to be anything but disappointing. With high expectations and overflowing anticipation, Killzone 2 is expected to deliver everything its predecessor was and then some.
The story is rumored to take place on the Helghast home planet of Helghan. Despite the two previous titles taking place on the ISA colony of Vekta, videos released of the title show continual air-raids, as well as ground invasion of the foreign planet. Despite what looked like anti-aircraft fire, the ISA managed to land around the Helghast capital to finally bring the fight to them. It’s still unknown whether this is the beginning of the end of the Helghast populous; fortunately, we won’t have to wait too long to find out.
Killzone 2 has shown nothing but promise from gameplay trailers and media releases alike. With unrivaled graphics and what looks to be the same for the gameplay, PS3 owners seem to be getting their monies worth and wait worth of entertainment. Killzone 2 is almost within your reach.
Resistance 2
Insomniac has had a busy time developing since the launch of the PS3. They’ve brought us great titles like Resistance: Fall of Man and Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction. Now they’re gearing up to release a sequel to their first must-own title of the PlayStation 3 with Resistance 2. This title has had much anticipation behind it as its predecessor has a strong following of FPS groupies.
This exciting sequel has the beloved Nathan Hale traveling overseas to the United States of America. The game is sure to feature a dark war never before seen by human eyes. Resistance 2 will also feature immense 60-man online battles that are squadron based. On top of that, you’ll see 8-man online co-op, as well as 2 single-player campaigns. It is also believed you’ll spend a short time in Iceland. It’s time for you to help man rise to victory.
With the announcement and details released for Resistance 2, we can’t help ourselves but be overfilled with anticipation. The first game in this series was the first true must-own game for the PlayStation 3 console and if that is any indication on the greatness that will follow ... (continued on next page)

I honestly think LBP is underhyped... the creativity of humans is amazing, and if MM pulls it off and gives us enough tools to be as creative as possible, this game could be one of the greatest games of all time.
If they can somehow implement triggers into this game, it will be unstoppable.
UMS in RTS games such as StarCraft and WarCraft can be extremely creative, and that's with crappy tools.
Trust me, this game will be incredible.

Can we not manage to put an apostrophe when a title is possessive? This is an awesome gaming site, yet things as simple as article titles are constantly errored in relation to grammar. Possessives = apostrophe. Seriously, it's getting old.

I agree with everything except White Knight Chronicles. Maybe I just think the plotline is overused or something, but the game seems like a flop to me.

but 21st comment aside... let's focus on the big things right now yall... in order from 1-5... MGS4 - Haze - Killzone 2 - LBP - White Knight Chronicles... and that's just from the list... i think they're understimamting SOCOM by putting that as a runner up... come on now june... this sh1t was supposed to be out ages ago... now i know that the longer the sh1t takes the better it's gonna be... but be honest... SOCOM deserves to be right there next to MGS4.. and also giving the fact both of these titles are being released around the same time.... it's gon blow sh1t out the water... without a doubt... Cha-Ching... i know them wallets are getting fat SONY... For those of you who took the time to read this sh1t...chek yo friends list around that time these 2 games are out... bet either any 1 of those 2 games are gonna be under theire names... if i'm wrong yall know my name hit it up...

MGS4, Tekken 6, FF XIII. Can't really say I'm too excited about any other titles this year, to be honest. I'll probably end up buying most of the games listed here though. Oh and by the way, what if Square stopped the Final Fantasy franchise for a little while after this one and worked on some PS3 remakes for FF7 / FF8? What would everyone think of that?

I don't think the exclusives are goint to save the ps3 unfortunately, why because hardware sales are in for the us for the year and sonys ps3 as had a total stuffing, it seems only blu-ray sony can really shout about but i don't think they will beat dvd, ok here come the figures for the entire year in the usa, the DS on 8.50 million 2.47 million sold at december second the wii which sold 6.29 million and in dec sold 1.69 million, third xbox 360 which sold 4.62 million and in dec sold 1.26 million, fourth the ps2 which sold 3.97 million and dec sold 1.1 million, fifth psp which sold 3.82 million dec sold 1.06, sixth ps3 sold 2.56 million dec 797.600 who ever wins in the us wins the next gen gamin, go to http¦/gaming-monstersandcritic.com

Why no FFXIII? Everyone says it won't make it out in 08', but officially it's suppose to and I'll not believe differently until it's officially announced to be 09'.
Otherwise, great list. Can't wait until the second half of 08' when all these games start to roll out.

this is y i own a playstation 3... epic and or intelligent experience's... SOMETHING THE 360 WILL NEVER ACOMPLISH.... gah srry i dont like jumping 50 feet in the air with an over sized Rocket launcher as ppl scream newb 24/7..... (ha i typed this from my ps3)

How dare you not place FFXIII. FXIII is a more anticipated exclusive than half of the list here. There some games here I haven't even heard before of. Only three games are known by anyone. Killzone 2, Metal Gear Solid 4, and FFXIII. BY FXIII I refer to both FF.

psn id: gingo.... i couldn't have made a better list if i tried, every one of these games should be a must buy for any ps3 owner and those still complaining about FF13 not being there as NoUseMercenary said already its highly doubtful it will be out this year, heck i'm really doubtful killzone 2 will be out this yr but we'll see what happens
