(continued from previous page) ...that will follow in this title then we’re in for a whole new ballgame. Hopefully, we can get this in our grubby little hands in no time.
LittleBigPlanet
Announced a year ago around this time, LittleBigPlanet has snowballed into massive anticipation. The game is brought to you by Media Molecule who has never released a major console title before. This may have caused a light concern early on, but LBP has shown nothing but sheer promise. In a period of gaming where physics is expected to bring it to new levels, it seems to have reached its first benchmark with the future release of Little Big Planet.
In LBP, players will control small stitched up characters known as, “Sackboy.” The name definitely befits the image. These little guys can move, jump, and grab objects placed throughout their environment. LBP revolves around a complete physic based concept. Users will have to guide their Sackboy through various obstacles and challenges in order to complete the levels. Users will also be able to plunge through the levels co-operatively as well. On top of everything mentioned already, this game promises to feature a user-driven world both online and offline.
Players worldwide will be able to create their own environments with mechanisms like pulleys, cogs, and other various objects. The materials will be easily accessible through a “Pop-It” menu that will feature different elements like sponge, wood, and felt. Each type of surface will hold true to its real-life counterpart. Wood will be sturdy, while you may see your Sackboy cushion down into the sponge material.
2007 and 2008 are both years that will have had an encyclopedia worth of releases in the First Person Shooter and Role-Playing Game format. For gamers looking for a fresh game with a unique idea and change of pace perspective or for gamers who loved the game of Lemmings, then Little Big Planet seems to have been created custom for you.
Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots
Hideo Kojima returns with the fourth (and as some would have you believe, final) installment in the critically acclaimed Metal Gear Solid series, exclusive to Sony PlayStation 3. Set in the year 2014, approximately five years after the events of Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty’s ‘Tanker Incident’, Guns of the Patriots once again casts players in the shoes of battle-hardened solider, Solid Snake, as he infiltrates a Middle-Eastern battleground whilst on the trail of the notorious Liquid Ocelot.
Building on the extolled blend of intense combat and stealth-based gameplay, Metal Gear Solid 4 features a number of returning elements from previous titles, including a fully 3D manipulative camera as well as both third and first person perspectives. However, Kojima and his team have gone to great lengths to not only preserve the traditional Metal Gear experience, but also expand upon it by tweaking existing features and introducing completely new ones.
Examples of this include the Camouflage system, which now allows Snake to blend in with his environment in a matter of seconds, obscuring him from enemy view, along with an entirely new over-the-shoulder view, facilitating the player’s maneuverability, allowing them to move around corners with greater ease. Snake is also aided in his mission by a small drone unit, the Metal Gear MK II, which can be used for multiple tasks, including communication, reconnaissance, and engaging the enemy. Other new additions include the ability to interrogate Snake’s enemies for information and supplies, the ability to “side” with rebel forces by aiding them in combat, and the all-new “Solid Eye”, which functions similar to the binoculars from previous games.
Snake’s latest entry is arguably one of the most impressive looking titles to grace Sony’s next-generation console, with its war-torn streets and dilapidated buildings boosting a visceral, gritty realism to them unlike anything else currently on the market. This combined with the series cinematic real-time cut-scenes; intricate plot line and stellar voice contributions have cemented Metal Gear Solid 4 as the most highly anticipated PS3 to date.

@ Hyourinmaru
We decided to not include Final Fantasy XIII cause its highly doubtful we'll see it in the U.S. before 2009.

I honestly think LBP is underhyped... the creativity of humans is amazing, and if MM pulls it off and gives us enough tools to be as creative as possible, this game could be one of the greatest games of all time.
If they can somehow implement triggers into this game, it will be unstoppable.
UMS in RTS games such as StarCraft and WarCraft can be extremely creative, and that's with crappy tools.
Trust me, this game will be incredible.

Can we not manage to put an apostrophe when a title is possessive? This is an awesome gaming site, yet things as simple as article titles are constantly errored in relation to grammar. Possessives = apostrophe. Seriously, it's getting old.

I agree with everything except White Knight Chronicles. Maybe I just think the plotline is overused or something, but the game seems like a flop to me.

Echochrome anyone? Maybe Home? Not a bad list though.

but 21st comment aside... let's focus on the big things right now yall... in order from 1-5... MGS4 - Haze - Killzone 2 - LBP - White Knight Chronicles... and that's just from the list... i think they're understimamting SOCOM by putting that as a runner up... come on now june... this sh1t was supposed to be out ages ago... now i know that the longer the sh1t takes the better it's gonna be... but be honest... SOCOM deserves to be right there next to MGS4.. and also giving the fact both of these titles are being released around the same time.... it's gon blow sh1t out the water... without a doubt... Cha-Ching... i know them wallets are getting fat SONY... For those of you who took the time to read this sh1t...chek yo friends list around that time these 2 games are out... bet either any 1 of those 2 games are gonna be under theire names... if i'm wrong yall know my name hit it up...

MGS4, Tekken 6, FF XIII. Can't really say I'm too excited about any other titles this year, to be honest. I'll probably end up buying most of the games listed here though. Oh and by the way, what if Square stopped the Final Fantasy franchise for a little while after this one and worked on some PS3 remakes for FF7 / FF8? What would everyone think of that?

I don't think the exclusives are goint to save the ps3 unfortunately, why because hardware sales are in for the us for the year and sonys ps3 as had a total stuffing, it seems only blu-ray sony can really shout about but i don't think they will beat dvd, ok here come the figures for the entire year in the usa, the DS on 8.50 million 2.47 million sold at december second the wii which sold 6.29 million and in dec sold 1.69 million, third xbox 360 which sold 4.62 million and in dec sold 1.26 million, fourth the ps2 which sold 3.97 million and dec sold 1.1 million, fifth psp which sold 3.82 million dec sold 1.06, sixth ps3 sold 2.56 million dec 797.600 who ever wins in the us wins the next gen gamin, go to http¦/gaming-monstersandcritic.com

Why no FFXIII? Everyone says it won't make it out in 08', but officially it's suppose to and I'll not believe differently until it's officially announced to be 09'.
Otherwise, great list. Can't wait until the second half of 08' when all these games start to roll out.

Bedsidelee ,
Just sell your PS3 to someone who'll appreciate it more. Don't come to this site just to post negative comments. And Microsoft and xbox fanboys like you need to stop thinking that America is the only country that matters when it comes to gaming. -

How dare you not place FFXIII. FXIII is a more anticipated exclusive than half of the list here. There some games here I haven't even heard before of. Only three games are known by anyone. Killzone 2, Metal Gear Solid 4, and FFXIII. BY FXIII I refer to both FF.

psn id: gingo.... i couldn't have made a better list if i tried, every one of these games should be a must buy for any ps3 owner and those still complaining about FF13 not being there as NoUseMercenary said already its highly doubtful it will be out this year, heck i'm really doubtful killzone 2 will be out this yr but we'll see what happens
