Kojima Productions’ Ryan Payton has labelled claims of 90 minute cut scenes in the studios upcoming Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots as a “gross exaggeration.”

Speaking to website Kotaku, Payton – assistant producer on the highly anticipated stealth adventure – commented, “I'm surprised nobody has stepped forward to debunk this rumour.”

"There are no 90 minute cutscenes in MGS4. The ending is long, but 90 minutes is a gross exaggeration,” Payton clarified.

Metal Gear Solid 4 takes place in the year 2014, and chronicles Solid Snake’s final mission as he is dispatched to the Middle East in order to terminate his long time adversary, Liquid Ocelot.

The game is scheduled for worldwide release exclusively on PS3 on June 12, 2008.

never believed it.. I mean come on it's still a game not a full length movie

Hmmm.. What I read never said anything about A 90 minute cutscene.  It was saying there was just over 90 minutes of cutscenes (PLURAL).  For a 20 hour or so game, 90 minutes or so of cutscene doesn't seem too extravagent at all!

I'm not surprised this got twisted around though.  People hear what they want to hear.  The ending of the game from what I read is about 15-20 minutes.

Hopefully everyone will calm down though now. Jeez!

um 90 minutes or 90 seconds, its still gonna be the best game this year by far. the trailers are already better that 90% of the games out now anyway

@evilmonkey501, I think you & I are the only 2 with basic common sense with regard to this post.  If ALL you bozos out there "read" and understand the original post it became rather clear, at least to me & evilmonkey, that the cut scenes in total, that means in all, ADD UP TO about 90min, it did NOT mean that there was a 90min cut scene.  Is that clear to everyone now, wtf !!!

REMEMBER THIS "COMMON SENSE IS UNCOMMON".

Obviously, 90 min. is the TOTAL cutscene time in the game, but don't assume everyone here are "Bozo's". Assuming that is what I call being "IGNORANT".

    I didnt believe that too.

I really doubt that the whole game will be 90mins aswel, mgs3 had 3.30 hrs of cutscenes so surly he would want to at least match that or make the game scenes longer ???

I guarantee there is more than 90 minutes of total cutscene time. The 90 minute statement was not someones twisted words, just an exaggeration. If Ryan Payton would read PSU more he would know that Mike Harradence updated the previously posted rumor weeks ago.

OPM said maybe 30 minutes on some but there are elements that keep you involved during the cutscenes and they are engrossing so you wont be bored

IDK about you guys, but anyone who's played this game knows that the cutscenes are a breath of relief and building up of the story for a later boss and more secrets surrounding the end of this series. I've always thought that out of all the games, MGS is one that is an interactive movie.

I hope no one really thought someone would sit you down for 90 minutes to watch a game you bought to play.  Idiots.
