Quasarilli creator talks about accomplishment

It’s not every day your average video game fan gets to watch one of his fan drawings come to life. A while ago PlayStation Underground ran a contest for their members to design a new Folk for their sensational title, Folklore. They received a ton of entries and narrowed it down to a new quirky little folk named Quasarilli. The Underground creator of this latest downloadable content is Uridicy. He had a lot to say in regards to his accomplishment.

“Art and games have always been a hobby of mine and as an aspiring game artist it is very exciting for me to see a professional 3D model of my creature Quasarilli. I’ve worked on a few Unreal Tournament mods as a texture artist/modeler to develop on my skills as an artist, so this is a real encouragement to me. When thinking of what kind of creature to make, I tried to incorporate some tribal elements with the mask like face, feathers, and horns. Of course, even the coolest looking character needs to be useful, or the player isn’t going to want to get him. I tried to think of what skills I would want in a Folk other than just brute strength. Since I usually spend a lot of time in most games going after various items, I thought stealing items occasionally might be a nice skill. It’ll be interesting hearing what different people think about my Folk, Quasarilli.”

“Overall, my favorite thing about Folklore is all the different environments. The game seems to have a unique darker fantasy feeling than the typical fantasy-RPG games I normally play, and the story about Ellen’s mom was very touching. I look forward to going up against my Quasarilli and I hope other people have fun with it too.”

This just goes to show you that you should never give up on something you love doing or have interest in. You never know what opportunity may arise which will allow you to grasp the moment in your hand and display what you can do. Uridicy is a testament to this and we’re glad to see an aspiring game artist achieve something like this in his potential career choice.

Oh come on guys... I know there's no news, but why go and rip off directly from the playstation.blog? I really thought you guys had interviewed the artist. This is just a copy/paste... Oh by the way, I love the site. I come here everyday.

Stickem, a positive story like this seems to always go overlooked and not everyone visits the playstation.blog.  It's not just a copy and paste, only the comments made by the creator are, simply because they're direct quotes which obviously would need to be.

@Stickemup. Why is it a probleme if its a copy/paste? I dont have the time to go and search the net for every news. Thats why I love to go to PSU! They do the searching for me and im very grateful for that! I thank the crew at PSU for a great site!!!
