After the mystery of the next Guitar Hero game was unveiled and America's Rock & Roll band, Aerosmith, stepped out of the smoke, rumor has it that this next version of Guitar Hero may finally break the ice with some new features.

With a name like Guitar Hero, the franchise has been built around challenging your fingers and seeing whether you can keep up with the coordination and timing of pressing frets on your plastic guitar. Now it the rumor spreading like wild fire is that Guitar Hero is looking to close the gap on Rock Band as a new Best Buy online ad reveals that the game will allow you to play as all of the legends of Aerosmith.

"This adventure for the amazing Guitar Hero series lets you drum like Joey Kramer, wield an axe like Joe Perry and Brad Whitford, bring up the bottom like bassman Tom Hamilton and belt out vocals like the legendary Steven Tyler. Unlike the real band, you won't have to endure years of touring and endless hours on stage. Just pick up your instrument and play, or put the mic in your hand and sing."

If this turns out to be true, it would be interesting to see if Activision would release their own controllers for the game or if they would finally make amends with Harmonix and allow compatibility with the Rock Band peripherals.
