Red Alert 3 PS3 "de-emphasised" to conserve resources

Here's a little update on the Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 saga. As you'll know from our (ahem) comprehensive coverage, EA Los Angeles' comic-book RTS dropped off the PlayStation 3's map earlier in the year, while remaining enroute for Xbox 360 release this November. Kikizo has been talking to the producer, Amir Ajami, who has shed a little light on the decision.
"It wasn't so much an issue of problems as it was an issue of resources," he said. "We've de-emphasised PS3 so we can get the PC and Xbox 360 version out."
"Since that announcement we haven't really been talking about PS3 - we want to do something on PS3, but whether it'll be this year and whether it'll be Red Alert 3 or not remains to be seen. We certainly don't intend to ignore the PS3."
We suspect the question of a PS3 port will hinge largely on how much the other versions sell. As to that tantalising last sentence, does EA Los Angeles have other plans in store for Sony's console? Maybe even - dare we say it - an exclusive?

Doesn't matter. IF they decide to bring this to PS3 they might as well include keyboard and mouse support or not even bother to port the title.

Yeah, just because the XBOX sells more we don't even get the game. I agree with Daver, it's a PC game(unless you count the ones for PS1 and N64) in the first place and thats what i'm getting it as.

The exact same thing was said with c&c tiberium wars and nothing much happened after that, this is going the same why.look EA stop being lazy, the cell is ere 2stay n the ps4 will be using it so get use to it if u know whats good for your profits and what happened to all games will be multi plat and the ps3 lead development console.

uhh Number 4, its not jsut about "the money" of course EAs got the money.
"Resources" actually means people. Im willing to bet nobody in the EALA office knows how the PS3 works and instead of spending hundreds of thousands of dollars of man-years to R&D it in conjunction with develooping the game itself, THEN porting, it becomes a question whether itll be worth it or not in the grand scheme of things.
They could, but it doens't make any sense at this point. As people have already said, C&C dominates on the PC market, while the 360 is more for those who dont want to invest in a half decent machine and jsut want to casually play (mostly)

Not surprising. PS3 is the toughest to produc games on, so wait on it so you can do the others, than do something else for PS3. Nothing wrong with that

lol That's just suicide, cause even if they make the port (which will probably suck) PS3 owners that know SOMETHING about the game industry will boycott it anyway. When will they learn the right way to develop multiplat games? PS3->360->PC, damn, you gotta love those guys at Criterion Games! It's a shame they now belong to EA.
P.S. What's with the Fable 2 ads everywhere? Hey PSU.com, how much did M$ pay?

This is the very reason Im a PC gamer also. RTS belongs on the PC. Im not saying its not possible to have an RTS on consoles. Just saying they belong on the PC. Why they would wont t bring this to the crashbox3fixme is beyond me. I really think Sony should invest in a keyboard and mouse combo tbh.

Man this totally blows. I wanted this game badly for PS3! WE DESERVE A VERSION, BE IT CRAPPY OR NOT! I was pretty angry I had to get C&C3 on PC when I'd rather play it on PS3. I love playing the PS1 version on PS3 (even though the PC version was better).

To be honest I don't know why they are even bothering making this game for anything other than the PC. It's always been a great game, and always on PC. I know CC3 launched on 360, it was fun, but just not the same as on PC. I'm sure this will be the same deal. I know they could use mouse and keyboard support for the PS3, but I guess they don't feel the average console user would use it?? Who cares, I'm getting it on PC anyways.
