Red Alert 3 PS3 "de-emphasised" to conserve resources

Here’s a little update on the Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 saga. As you’ll know from our (ahem) comprehensive coverage, EA Los Angeles’ comic-book RTS dropped off the PlayStation 3’s map earlier in the year, while remaining enroute for Xbox 360 release this November. Kikizo has been talking to the producer, Amir Ajami, who has shed a little light on the decision.

"It wasn’t so much an issue of problems as it was an issue of resources," he said. "We’ve de-emphasised PS3 so we can get the PC and Xbox 360 version out."

"Since that announcement we haven’t really been talking about PS3 – we want to do something on PS3, but whether it’ll be this year and whether it’ll be Red Alert 3 or not remains to be seen. We certainly don’t intend to ignore the PS3."

We suspect the question of a PS3 port will hinge largely on how much the other versions sell. As to that tantalising last sentence, does EA Los Angeles have other plans in store for Sony’s console? Maybe even – dare we say it – an exclusive?
