Epic Games Vice President Mark Rein has conceded that the PlayStation 3 version of Unreal Tournament 3 may not see the light of day in Europe this year.
Speaking to Eurogamer, Rein stated, "We think there's a very solid shot we'll get out this year - I don't know about Europe. Europe's a problem because the certification process in Europe takes longer.
"They're testing all these different languages in all these different countries, so I doubt it'll be released this year in Europe. But I don't know. We'll have to cross our fingers and wait and see”, he added.
Despite this, the company announced that they are striving to release the game in North America this year, with the PC version due out later this month. An Xbox 360 port is due in early 2008.

psn id: gingo.... well i was just saying earlier that it would be good for me if this got delayed until 2008 in europe for me so this is good news indeed
@gingo
Reversed psychology??? I bet 95% of Gamers dislike delays, I'm from Europe and the delay is quite a pity but at least the gave us a proper explanation and its out in early of 2008 if not in 07. So I'm at least "ok" with it ~.~
They should just cut with that language crap and release the games in english. Damn, we are always the last ones to get everything.
This is an fps, there is less talking and lots of shootinf and fraging. So language shouldn't be a poblem for the UT fans around the world.I think the game is alright in its present state.
man europe gets nothing.Just ship as many new games u can on ps3 periode.

Well that sucks, you can only hope for the best then for it to come out this year for EU.
Well they give a valid reason to the EURO ps base...lets see if the mob gonna get them
Personally idc about EU sry EU fans, because this was and still is my most anticipated game of the year and I kill to have this out release this year Id give 2 thumbs up if epic & midway release this game for the holiday season. That gives me just enough time to tire myself out in CoD4 and get ready for another awesome shooter. Also I feel sry for Haze if they release in december. Many people will probably choose UT3 over Haze, which idk if Haze is going to be a good game yet. Will see come demo time and release. One game im going to wait for reviews and what people think about it who played it.
UT has always been good - its a pretty safe bet. The engine is well proven and Epic have the game play of UT down pat so jump in and grab it.
I honestly think your better off with UT3 on PC. Its really first & foremost made for PC players. You also get all the mods and you know they will release an expansion pack... My feeling is that my PS3 will get a workout with Haze, MGS4 and Burnout Paradise when they get here - so Im not fazed. Right now PC is where all the fun is. I think I paid $49 for the "Orangebox" pack and I got Half Life 2, HL2 Episode 1 expansion, HL2 Episode 2 expansion, Team Fortress 2, Portal, and a bonus game Peggle Extreeme - pretty good value! I also paid only AU$40 for STALKER. No complaints from me.
Haha funny thing is if it comes out Christmas I'll get that and Haze so I honestly wouldn't care, sorry EU fans.
Just remember US fans, once this game is released worldwide...you'll able to play against Euro players and everyone else...who knows, they may be challenging players!
this is news? because NO ONE suspected that this one would get "delayed" ...nooo...not at all...(heavy sarcasm there people)
Don't get me wrong, if nothing else is out at the time for either console and i'm bored i'll grab this one but it ain't on the "must buy" list anymore...
Why can't they release a NA version with a UK version. They can have a European version which they can then localize seperate from the UK version. When UTIII releases in the states I can import it and it would work fine on my UK PS3. There is no need for us in the UK to wiat for the rest of Europe when we can have the US ones in English too.
