Resident Evil: Extinction due out in January

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has announced that it will be bringing Resident Evil: Extinction to Blu-ray, UMD and DVD from January 1, 2008.

The Blu-ray and DVD editions will feature a plethora of bonus content, including a commentary track, deleted scenes and four making-of featurettes, of which The Big Bang: Shooting Resident Evil: Extinction and Vegas Visual Effects: Miniatures featured. The UMD version, however, doesn’t appear to include most if not all of the above.

In related news, Sony also confirmed that the Resident Evil Blu-ray trilogy boxset will be released the same day, containing the original Resident Evil (2002), Resident Evil: Apocalypse (2004) and, of course, Resident Evil: Extinction (2007) The bundle will cost USD 89.85.

Extinction chronicles the events of series veterans Alice, Carlos and L.J, along with newcomer Claire Redfield, as they attempt to survive in a world populated by flesh eating zombies, following a global outbreak of the Umbrella Corporation’s infamous T-virus.

    Well, Alice certainly isnt nearly as sexy as the last two films, kinda took away my reasoning for watching the third, they really uglied her up.

    Personally, I feel that the films are an attrocity to the video game franchise. However, on a separate note, these films were loved by the mass public, and will be a good win for Blu-Ray, even though they suck.

    I know it's a Sony movie and all, but this is like doing a nude photo shoot when you have STD lesions showing. Hopefully they don't promote this thing very much because it's more of an embarassment to the Blu-Ray name than Spiderman...

    actually i liked the 3rd one, it was pretty good. all u have to do is not picture them as Video game adaptations, and it will stand out pretty good. I liked the 3rd one then the 1st, and didnt really see all of the 2nd one.

    this is a good movie cant wait for the 4th on its goign to rock out loud and that a good movie and if u havent seen it yet then u better it a have to see and buy it movie

    Bluray exclusive, nice. Ill probabley buy this movie, now that you can play the resident evil 5 and devil may cry 4 demo.

    WHAT??! about $90US!!! That sounds like a very expensive trilogy! Especially when the Spider-Man is only AU$69! Spider-Man trilogy cost heaps more to make and also made way more in the box office world-wide!! So, this price really can not be justified!
