Capcom announced today that a demo of Resident Evil 5 will be released on PlayStation Network on February 2, 2009.
It was previously believed that the demo would arrive on February 5, though Capcom appears to have bumped up the release, meaning PlayStation 3 owners will only have to wait one week to get their hands on the two-level build following its premier on Xbox Live on January 26.
The demo offers you a chance to test drive the game’s new co-op functionality with a friend or go solo with the AI assuming responsibilities for Sheva’s character. As mentioned previously, two stages are available in the form of Assembly Place and Shanty Town, each one featuring their own boss creature, such as the inexorable Majini Executioner and Chainsaw Majini.
Resident Evil 5 is scheduled for release on March 13, 2009.
