Resistance 2 dated for US, Japan

Sony has confirmed that Insomniac’s highly anticipated PlayStation 3 sequel Resistance 2 will hit North American shores on November 4, followed by a Japanese release on November 13.
In addition to the game’s long awaited release date, the platform holder also confirmed availability of a U.S Collector’s Edition release of the upcoming FPS, as well as announcing that the game’s worldwide multiplayer and co-op beta is scheduled to begin in early October.
The Collector’s Edition contains the following items:
— Created by DC Unlimited, an exclusive Chimeran Hybrid action figure with Bullseye weapon.
— A double-sided hard-cover Resistance 2 art book covering war-torn America from two unique perspectives.
— Exclusive in-game HVAP Wraith multiplayer weapon skin
— Copy of Resistance 2 with special edition cover artwork selected by the fans
The special collector’s edition also includes a bonus DVD of exclusive Resistance 2 additional contents including:
— A preview into the upcoming Resistance novel, “Resistance: The Gathering Storm” by well-known science fiction author William Dietz.
— “America Forever Lost”, Behind The Scenes video of Resistance 2 with Insomniac Games
— “Shattered History” Resistance chronology video — provides a visual guideline from the earliest days of the Chimera invasion to the current storyline.
— Digital copy of Issue #0 of the Resistance comic book series published by Wildstorm.
Insomniac Games President, Ted Price, commented: “Resistance 2 is Insomniac’s most ambitious game yet. The team’s goals from the onset have been to heighten the online experience and encourage experienced and novice players to jump online."

A European release date has yet to be announced.

Hold on a sec, the public beta begins in early october with the game releasing in under a month after...? How is that in anyway a beta and not just a blantant demo? I highly doubt anything we report will be changed in such a short amount of time...

Well wasn't it Europe that made a big stink about having part of the gameplay in a church within the first Resistance? I feel for the fans in Europe....but I highly doubt its the intensions of the developers to delay the game in that region....Europeans should piss and moan to the powers that be...aka your government officialsorganizations that allows the game to be release in that region.

About the whole Collectors Edition...WHAT ABOUT A DAMN WORLDWIDE RELEASE?! More importantly I really hope Insomniac release it in New Zealand...Argh.

The open beta in october is more of a stress test, that means that by then all the major bug testing will have been done and the game should be playable for the most part. the only thing left to find out is how it stands up to regular players at that point. any bugs they find would normally be easily fixable after launch with a patch.

That's true, buying collectors on a US internet store is about the same price as the game sold alone in france, so I don't really care about a euro date like I'm most likely going to buy resistance 2 on amazone (if the price is good)!

Thanks Insomniac for stuffing Europe again. It'll probably be on the 8th or a week later than the US, but is it too much to ask for providing a release for us? Why bother with Japan? They don't even play FPS games!
