Robbers pinch 100 copies of Black Ops from Maryland GameStop

It seems some people will do anything to get their hands on the new Call of Duty game as soon as possible. According to authorities in northeast Maryland, robbers stole some 100 copies of Call of Duty: Black Ops from a GameStop Saturday night.

The armed men stole four cases of the game, consoles and cash during the robbery. The Hartford County Sherriff’s Office said the robbery occurred as the GameStop in Bel Air was closing.

According to a report in the Baltimore Sun, two customers were forced into GameStop’s storage area at gunpoint. Police believe the men may also be responsible for a robbery at a GameStop in Aberdeen on Oct. 21.

There’s no word on how these missing games will impact those who pre-ordered it from that GameStop, but hopefully those who put the time into purchasing it legally will get their copies in a timely manner.

" ‘Call of Duty: Black Ops’ isn’t out there ’til Tuesday, so anybody that has it today or tomorrow shouldn’t have it," Monica Worrell, a spokeswoman for the sheriff’s office, said on Sunday.
