According to a listing on retail giant GameStop’s website, Konami’s cybernetically powered slice ‘em up Metal Gear Solid Rising will be released in the U.S. on June 3, 2011.
Obviously we’d like to point out that nothing official has come out of Konami HQ regarding the game’s release date, though GameStop in the past has been spot on the money when stamping dates on upcoming titles. Previous rumors pointed to a 2012 release, though again this has yet to be confirmed.
Rising takes places between the events of MGS2: Sons of Liberty and MGS4: Guns of the Patriots, and puts gamers in control of silver-haired ninja Raiden as he slices his way through legions of bad guys, vehicles and the odd watermelon. Not much else is known about the game at this point, though the developers have said we can expect a few familiar faces to pop up.
Stay tuned for more info as it breaks.
