Survey reveals PS3 is 'teen favourite'One year following its release, and Sony's exclusive new franchise Resistance: Fall of Man is still very much the focus of attention among the gaming community, this time in the form of a possible sequel.
Following reports early last month that the sequel to the critically acclaimed first-person shooter was ready for pre-alpha testing, Sony Computer Entertainment of America filed for a trademark securing the name "Resistance 2". Do the math, and it can only mean that at the very least the firm is considering a sequel for it's popular pseudo-WWII shooter.
The original Resistance: Fall of Man was released as a PlayStation 3 launch title in Japan on November 11, 2006, in the United States on November 14, 2006 and in Europe on March 23, 2007. Resistance met generally favorable critical reception as a launch title as well as winning several awards and becoming the first PS3 game to sell over one million copies
Although this bit of news does not verify the game exists, it does provide enough evidence that Insomniac Games is working on a sequel. The only bit of information that the filing hints at is that the game will have an online community as the filing includes as section that describes the game as, "OPERATING A REAL-TIME GAME FOR OTHERS OVER GLOBAL AND LOCAL AREA COMPUTER NETWORKS."
Other details have yet to be announced or released about the game but the official filing by Sony can be viewed here.

Sweet, I do hope they make the characters like-able, with a better tory and online mode.

JD-82... Just because they are just now trademarking the name doesn't mean they haven't started development on it. In fact n my opinion it kind of proves they've been working on it if they want to secure the title. Wha do you think insomniac has been doing since Ratchet and Clank Future came out? Twiddleing their thumbs? No they've been working on theri next title, Resistance 2. So yes i did read the article, Thank You.
i hope its harder tha nthe first one and they have new guns i thought the guns were really lame and weak. they need a better sniper system too. maybe updated graphics and cooler uniforms for the marines.
as long as the multiplayer is just as great as the first one it will be a sik game

WTF this article is stupid this game was alwasy gonna hvae a sequal full stop and insomniac have been working on it since they finshed reistance alhtough they were abit pre occupired with rachet and clank f there wasnt a sequal we would never have gotten to see THE CLOVEN and discovered the mysteries of the us's secret involment whihc is eveidnet with there strangely advanced guns that you find a couple of (they look kind of like chimera guns but if you read up on them they are not) adn their black ops agents found though out the game and that appear at the very end of the game and we would never knwo about the inccedent that cuased nathen hale to be resistant to the chimera
All I ask is 4 player splitscreen on/off line......and bots with multiplayer is that too much to ask for this supposed next gen
By this time I think RFOM will be a greatest hits for the PS3.

The story is NOT about them finally making the game it's about them tradmarking it. JD-82 is commenting because this post makes it look like you're complaining about the fact that we already know it's comming without addressing the point of the new post altogether, the fact that Sony just made the name official.
Very excited and cant wait. I loved RFOM and I know the 2nd one will be even better.

I loved the first RFOM, hope when ever they release the next they make Hale more social and less quiet (he seems some what boring).

i really enjoyed the first one so i am really axpecting big thing on the second one since they had more time to work with the ps3.
resistance 2 is no surprise, i just wonder how they're gonna go about to make it better than the first one, personally i think rfom wasn't that hard, just hope they make the second longer and better, if possible.
