Sony has announced that it will be bringing SOCOM: Confrontation to North America on September 16, 2008.
The company also revealed that it has launched the official website for the game, providing fans with regular news updates along with a dedicated community section.
Following SOCOM’s release, the site will also contain a number of extra features, including real-time stat tracking and clan management tools.
SOCOM: Confrontation is the latest instalment in the popular online shooter franchise, and will be available for the PlayStation 3 via the PlayStation Network or on Blu-ray disc.

Well, let me put this on record right now. Socom Confrontation WILL outsell Killzone 2. Socom is the reason a lot of people bought a PS3. Killzone 2 is just a nice looking, generic FPS that will have a fate similar to Killzone 1.

Awww mannn!I was expecting to have Socom in my hands before the summer was over.They shouldnt release it in Sept. with LBP and KZ2 drop it in a month where nothing is coming out.Socom is gonna steal somebodies shine.Actually, they should make Socom go head up with Gueers of war 2.

Socom is NOT a FPS. Do not compare socom to fps games. It is a totally different style of game that should not ge comparied with fps games like stinky COD4 (sorry not a fan of that game at all).
If you think KZ2 is competition for SOCOM, you have no idea about the fan base. This is simply the difference between dorks that like KZ, Halo and Unreal Vs. people who like realistic military shooters like COD4 and SOCOM. Sure, there are gamers who like both, but there's usually a split. And you can keep your Sci-fi stupidity shooters. Where people bounce up and down like idiots.
