Saints Row 2 delayed until October

Senior Executives at THQ have confirmed that the publisher has delayed the release of Saints Row 2 until its fiscal third quarter as a result of product quality and marketing considerations.

The highly anticipated crime romp was originally scheduled for release on August 26; however, as a result of the delay, the title will hit stores on October 14.

However, according to THQ’s Senior Vice President of Worldwide Marketing, Bob Aniello, the move is not expected to affect the company’s financial outlook for the 2009 fiscal year.

Set a few years after the original title, Saints Row 2 features "a much darker and more sinister story that leads your character down a path of betrayal, revenge and redemption against the city that has left him for dead."

The game will contain a number of improvements over its predecessor, such as new weather effects, enhanced Pedestrian AI, along with a plethora of new vehicles, including boats, monster trucks and helicopters.

    When it does actually come out, i'll rent it to check it out but I don't think i'm going to be marking my calendar lol.

    Sorry THQ but with LBP,BIOSHOCK,MOTORSTORM2,SOCOM, i dont think ill get this title however it should sell really well on the 360 though cos they aint got nothing coming out in october have they? GOW2 maybe

    well i want it more than GTA4 i was beat the Gta4 in one week that two side story and there is nothing to do also guns are very limited and ammo. i'm really disapointed

    san andreas way better gameplay and fun :D

    psn id: gingo.... companies delaying their games till this time of the year are going to be struggling for sales especially with their ps3 versions as this is the time the ps3 exclusives are coming and most gamers will opt for them

    Two month delay isn't too bad, even if it is only to look better on paper.
