Sam and Max fighting crime on a PS3 near you?

TellTale Games has expressed interest in bringing its popular crime fighting due Sam and Max to other platforms at some point in the future, hinting at a possible release on PlayStation 3.

With the franchise currently scheduled for a release on Wii this fall, along with plans for an Xbox Live Arcade debt at some point, TellTale’s Emily Morganti noted the studio is "not ruling out other platforms in the future.”

“We’re interested in PlayStation, also… we want our games to be everywhere!” said Morganti.

Conceived Steve Purcell for a comic book series in 1987, Sam and Max were later adapted into videogame form in 1993, and spawned their own TV series, The Adventures of Sam and Max: Freelance Police, in 1997.

More recently, the anthropomorphic dog and his "hyperkinetic rabbity” sidekick were adapted into a series of episodic adventure games for the PC by TellTale Games in 2005.
