Max Payne theatrical trailer releasedThe outcry for the Home public beta to launch has been going on for what feels like forever now. We've seen the thousands of comments regarding the issue, as well as all of the threads scattered across uncountable amounts of forums throughout the internet. It seems that the entire dilemma is finally coming to a full on stop with the recent comments from a Senior Director from Sony.
Susan Panico, Senior Director of the PlayStation Network has finally stated that "we'll be opening up the Home Beta to the public very soon and hope to see u there." This quote of gold that many users have been asking for was released with the May issue of PlayStation Magazine.
Now, we completely understand that this does not make a date concrete nor does it give you a precise window; fortunately, we feel you can almost narrow the window down on your very own.
The fact that she stated it was coming soon in a May issue means that you probably shouldn't expect it here in April. At the very earliest, you can assume it is coming in May; however, there is a lot of reason to expect Home to launch some time in June, which in all honesty, would probably be the best for all worlds.
With the release of Home in June, it will give you a ton of time for Metal Gear Solid 4 as well as Home. This is because most of our teenage readers will be finished with school and have the ability to just play until they're finally satisfied. Obviously for our older readers, this isn't as luxurious but you'll have to make due.
If any firm date is set, we'll keep you updated with that information. Until then, we figure you should expect a release mid-May to somewhere in June, but we're not Sony, we can't tell you for sure.

june is fine with me not far off really you guys have to understand this is a feat that must be done right and if it flops its going to make sony look very very bad this is why they are only going to release it when its ready i know the wait has been long and hard but look at it from their point of view this if done correctly will revolutionize online gaming and socialization and all eyes are on them give them a little break

IGN.com has the release date for HOME Q3 2008 and HOME was scheduled to come out ths Spring... but Spring lasts until late June, so maybe it could make it by Spring. But, I personally don't think that HOME is going to come out until July at E3. E3 would be the best time to launch HOME if you ask me. I can't see HOME coming out this Spring, but I could be wrong.
Ofcourse they wouldn't set a date. They don't even know a freakin' date. I wish they would just shut up about HOME already unless we are getting some pleasing news.

next week when dualshock 3 comes out, just think about it. there has to be a reason why there going to release dualshock 3 earlier then expected. it was schedueled for april 15
well....Warhawk just got the 1.3 update, and it has HOME intergration...so...maybe its sooner than we think

WOW, it's finally going to come out this year.
Being in the beta, I can't say much, but with the latest patch they've got it really streamlined and are having people do more and more server stress tests. It wouldn't surprise me that it's coming soon

I'm getting sick and tired of reading about Home supposedly coming soon. I know Sony had to showcase it in order to take some shine away from the 360's lineup at E3 but if the wait isnt worth the final product then Sony is gonna have a problem. I read a good piece a while back that listed what Home IS, what Home ISNT and what Home CAN BE. If the CAN Bes become a reality, then I Sony will have a big winner on their hands.

I'm hoping for a May release. Warhawk just got an update wich enables HOME launching. So HOME can't be to far off.

Yeah, been there done that. Your Bluray drives knackered, if your under warranty sony should be able to sort you out a refurb.
The ideal time to release would be when they revamp the PS store and everyone has to upgrade to 2.30

To be honest, I fully expect it to be sh.i.t and I will just deal witth it until they get around to refining it over the course of 2009 for a service that should of been launched back in 2006 early 07
lets face it, home and little big planet were just marketing gimmicks to make people buy the console, just like the space for the ps2 hard drive, theyll never see the light of day , if they do itll be years down the line when noone gives a damn anymore. oh and server problems will make it unworkable

I dont know about anyone else, but I for one would prefer to had it come out in November. Even with the little bugs, they could have fixed them in updates, this way we would have actually had it and it be playable, instead of them dragging it out and making people lose interest like they are now.

I honestly hope Home takes its time. Think about it. If we get Home, the only thing left for the whiners to b!tch about is in-game XMB. And that's worse than Home Beta rumors.
For us older gamers its just so difficult to fit in all the games...sigh how many i have missed over the years
