Singularity creative director Jon Zuk has said that shooter will deliver the same experience across all formats (PS3, Xbox 360 and PC), thanks largely to the application of the Unreal Engine 3 and the firm’s experience in developing for multiple platforms.
“We are developing across the X360/PS3/PC simultaneously,” Zuk told VG247. “Each platform has challenges, but you’ll get the same experience whether it’s PC, 360 or PS3."
Zuk added that although there is some refinements needed when balancing the experience for each console, things would have gotten a little more complex had the team not utilized the Unreal Engine 3 and instead started from scratch.
“There are no differences between the three, but you have to balance things to the specifications of each platform,” he said. “Fortunately, the Unreal 3 engine is very strong and already working on all of our platforms, so it’s not as big a challenge as it could be if we were creating a game engine from scratch.”
