One of the more anticipated features for the PSP was the recently announced Skype addition. It was scheduled to release on the 24th, however just before it was about to release in Japan the SCEJ has decided that it will postpone the launch to a later date.
The reason behind the delay is that Skype officials believe that the two 1st party microphone packages set to release were not up to their standards, thus forcing Sony to reevaluate their plan.
"Solutions to enable users to start using Skype features and services on their PSP are being sought for and will be announced in due course," said SCEJ.
Confirmed earlier this year at CES, Skype is a device that allows PSP users to communicate with other Skype users or other mobile devices such as a cell phone. Currently Skype has over 246 million registered users. That number is expected to increase through the PSP.
