Gamers who have yet to receive an invite for SOCOM: Confrontation’s online multiplayer beta may want to turn their attention to a mammoth 10 minute video of the game in action to see what they’re missing out on.
The first half of the video includes footage of nearly all the customization options available to the player, as detailed below:
- Armory
- Weapons (choose primary, secondary, weapon attachments, gear)
- Body (light, medium, heavy)
- Face
- Head Features (Facial hair, face paint, etc)
- Camo and Color (choose clothing color and options)
Meanwhile, the remainder of the footage depicts numerous online gun battles players can experience either by jumping in the multiplayer beta or purchasing the game when it release on October 14.
Check out the video below:

Long load times, considering the film was spead up at the beginning. But it should be fun with more people in it.

Where there ever any restrictions on providing info/vids/pictures about this game
If so, then a ton of Socom HQ europe forumers have already violated against this.
So why the word leaked? didnt PSU staff get their beta keys?

You all have to try this! the video does not give you the true feel of playing. It is MUCH better than cod ang mgo. I dont know if u guys played rbsv but when i switched from that and played cod4 for the first time i was like wow this is WAY better. You get the same effect when you play this game.

As Shijima (Socom Programmer) stated in the Official UK PS forums, it is more of a demo using Beta code and they are not looking for feedback. The bugs were likely worked out in the closed Beta and this is just PR move for the fans and to work out kinks in the servers.
Also, there was no agreement to any NDA between getting a code & logging into the game....so NDA does not apply.
I have PM'd Shijima a question about the absence of the old FPS mode, but unfortunately it has not been answered yet. So until then, you may as well understand that the chances of the old FPS mode being in the full game is extremely slim if it is not in the game at this late stage.
The load times are about 5-10 minutes...any longer and its likely a network error caused a game crash. But Slant6 are doing an amazing job of supporting the game in ways we could only dream of when ZIPPER were in control. Things have gotten better and better in a matter of days....so I really have no concerns about the quality of the game.
My only concern is the FPS mode which I only ever played Socom with.
BTW..COD4, BF:BC or any other game out there has nothing on Socom when it comes to online community orientation & never had. Socom Confrontation ( Slant6) have seen a great thing and improved it. Its the 1st time a developer this generation has even attempted community orientation in a AAA game ( except MGO and R:FOM) which makes me wonder just what the heck are all the rest thinking when they state that online gaming is the future , and design their games as predominantly online games, yet fail the community?

Well first off this game doesn't hold a candle to COD4 or B-Company.
@Gunteng, Well first off communitys are based of casual gaming. As long as i can party up with friends and play with them i could care less, and alot of people feel the same way.

@Utalkin2me
Yeah...and neither of those games made partying up easy. Not everyone has friends that play the same games, nor at the same time. People like to be able to go rooms and play with the people they know provide the experience they want and avoid those that spoil their game. Heck, it took an update to allow muting for COD4 and even then the mute was automatically turned off after one game. And inviting friends to a game on COD4 was a pointless exercise.
COD4 & BF would have been far better games with a set-up like Socoms.
The simple fact is...COD4 was never close to fulfilling the hype it got & was never going to prove a community orientated experience. For a predominantly online game, it was so seriously flawed.
Socom wuite easily set the standard many years ago & some of todays games fail to even come close to achieving a community like Socoms. If you just like auto match find, then fair enough...enjoy your blind dates.
But the simple fact is, other developers seriously need to look at what Socom is doing if they want to make their games last more than a month for many gamers.
IMO, even though I hate 3rd person, this Socom quite easily blows both games away for online gameplay & community orientation.
