Sony Computer Entertainment today confirmed the multiplayer details for Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. For the first time in the series, Uncharted 2 will include competitive and cooperative online modes. Multiplayer modes include up to 10 players in five-versus-five matches, along with a three player co-op mode that gives players a chance to progress through a variety of environments by working together to accomplish set objectives.
Other modes includes Team Death Match and Capture the Treasure, which sees teams working together to transport valuable treasure over dynamic terrain such as ledges and obstacles. There will be a wide range of maps available, which are based on environments from the single-player campaign, and the ability to create custom matches will allow players to use the maps that they want to.

“Adding a multiplayer aspect to the Uncharted franchise is a significant step in the re-playability of the game,” said Christophe Balestra, co president Naughty Dog. “Uncharted 2: Among Thieves will be the most impressive and ambitious game that Naughty Dog has done and we are thrilled to let our fans experience it this fall.”
Uncharted 2: Among Thieves is expected to release Fall 2009. Be sure to check out more multiplayer screenshots in our Uncharted 2 image gallery.

You’ll be able to get a multiplayer beta voucher inside inFamous no matter where you purchase it.
And, yes, we’re working on getting the beta set up in Europe too (we’ll let you know as soon as we do).
cool so beta voucher is packed with Infamous :)

@ 9 how can you say u won't enjoy the MP you haven't tried it yet? and as far as i'm concerned this will be something that adds massive replay value to the game and don't forget about co op with up to 3 friends, as for the single player only thing Evan Wells the co president of ND said himself that the MP isn't distracting them from making an absolutely brilliant single player experience so don't worry about that, ND no what they're doing 1st day buy

well after reading this and seeing the multiplayer trailer this game just jumped to the top of my hype list! i think this will be great because the only thing that i didn't like about uncharted was that i was able to get the platinum trophy in less than a week. mp should make sure theres something to keep coming back for months after release.

Why ruin a perfectly good single player experience by mucking it up with a MP? I know nobody's played it, but not everybody wants it. And you can almost rest assured the solo campaign is going to suffer because of it. And they'd never say they hobbled it to appeal to online. That's one of the best things about the first one: a very strong single player campaign with no online trophy requirement. Either way, I'm still looking forward to this, regardless of how brief it very well may be.

Did MGS4 suffer for it's multiplayer? Seriously not everygame suffers from Multiplayer as long as it's well planned in advance. You start with singleplayer, you adjust to allow there to be additional multiplayer content and do it without sacrificing the single player. A company like Naughty dog always puts Single player in the most prominant position. Multiplayer is simply there to extend the life of the game not replace it's main theme. It's a game who's focus in the franchaise has alwasy been the characters, we saw and heard more abou the main game than we ever did about Multi in the same time frame. At the same time if you want the multiplayer to not feel tacked on you assign a team to develop it and make sure it's strong on it's own. Games like Resistance, COD, and Killzone have always had Multiplayer in mind as a main theme because that's what the games excell in so it's understandable if the singleplayer seems shorter because of it, but that dosent mean the single player campaigns "suffered".

This will be amazing. The first game was so cool (until the stupid ending with the lame monsters). The whole time I was playing the first game I was just wishing I could play online with a friend.
