Sony details upcoming Euro PSN releases

Posted on March 4th, 2008 at 07:14 EDT

Sony Computer Entertainment has issued a press release this week detailing a number of upcoming attractions for the European PlayStation Network and PlayStation Store PC.

Among the games planned for release over the next few months include the highly anticipated PAL launch of PAIN, which will finally be hitting the region’s PlayStation Network some time this month.

April, meanwhile, will see the release of Elefunk; a game where players must ensure the safe journey of an Elephant across hazardous terrain by constructing bridges. Additionally, the PAL release will also feature three new game modes – Time Attack, Puzzle and Deconstruction.

Rounding out the list of major PlayStation Network updates for Europe is Echchrome, developed by Sony Computer Entertainment Japan (SCEJ), due for release in May 2008.

Finally, consumers can look forward to the PSP port of Flow, along with the upcoming Ape Quest, which will be hitting the PlayStation Store PC this March and April, respectively.

If you have a credit card you can buy games like PAIN and Velocity Bowling from the US store and they will work on PAL PS3's. So why does it take Sony so long to add them to the EU store? They're deliberately prolonging the releases so they can spread the high rated games throughout the months. PAIN, Velocity Bowling, Elefunk and Echcrome could be released all in this month but then Sony has nothing for the 2 months after that.
