Sony ensures ‘blockbuster’ announcements at Leipzig

Sony has promised heavy-hitting, global announcements at this August's Leipzig Games Convention.
During a Sony Computer Entertainment Europe media briefing, SCEE president David Reeves informed MCV that the company still has some tricks up its sleeve after this year's E3.
"We feel now that we have a pattern globally which is E3, Tokyo Games Show and Leipzig – it gives us three bites of the cherry to come out with our announcements," remarked Reeves. "We cannot tailor all our announcements to July."
He also ensured that global announcements are part of Sony's Leipzig arsenal as well, despite having "a number of things which is real blockbuster stuff for Europe."

@ Fingal_DThere is nothing worse than a stupid remark of first, is a stupid ill thought out comment.
Anyway, I felt that the E3 confrenece was not all there. I mean, there wasn't a huge or shocking announcement from Sony, leaving me to feel that they are holding back something. I think we might see a Blockbuster Sony alliance for PSN, just like M$ with Netflix. I guess you Euro chaps have some great things coming your way. Any other speculations I'm not sure other than that.

awesome tgs is also confirmed to have big announcements too tbh the announcements made at e3 were enough for me the fact we are getting even more is just icing on the cake

oh phew! Ya know, they are going to make more wide surprises woot:D we got all year, and Nintendo probably already gave everything they want to give for the year, and M$ just has the new Halo title, but I doubt anything worth it left.

Square enix also said coming this August 2-3rd they have something for PS3 that will turn the spot light back to the PS3 and a rumor of an exclusive game revealing before than and now this, SONY'S SUPER COME BACK!!!!!!!

lol your an idiot dude,you should be ridding in the same bus with mcgriddles... when reeves said "blockbuster" he ment big HUGE hit game title's,not blockbuster movie rental service man cmon... (though i think that would be kool,cuz blockbuster has more titles then netflix :) but that wasnt my point.
anyways im keeping my hopes high for lipzieg and keeping them really low for tokyo game show (for square-enix purposes)... haha wii has nothing left,and M$ pretty much spilled their guts at e3 (thinking they took down the ps3 finaly) pfft fI_Ikin r3tardz.

Come on, hurry up. I want to see what these annmouncements are. I can only hope that its not more damn shooters or MMO's. I want platforming, action, adventure and more RPG type games.

I think we all know that there was going to be a big announcement since their E3 press conference was pretty weak. I'm going to be really looking forward to this announcement just so I can laugh at Microsoft... "We have ANOTHER Halo game". I don't think that is something want to hear because sequels are the only thing people are going to hear from Microsoft.

1.hey yall do know just because its coming from SCEE doesn't mean Europa will be getting it first. 2. Sony really don't need BLOCKBUSTER for videos being that SONY is a movie company and have first hand to other movie studios for movies so there's really no need for a third party company for movies. only thing Sony should do now is have music download and let you download music to your psp, ipod, mp3 and mp4
i hope its a big game announcement hey what if its FF XIII comes out september it gotta be something to blow crapbox FF XIII out the water

You are such an A** Hat.... NO F'N S**T. I was only basing my comment on speculation not that I thought that a Blockbuster Sony alliance was based on fact. They did mention huge announcements so I took a shot in the dark. After all it would be huge if it were true.

Great! I wonder what these geniouses are up to. They always do some lame marketing scheme that never works, I love the ps3 but the sony folks always do something that gets more people to hate them. They shouldnt mention they have any announcements about anything, they should just shut up for a year or two and publish some more great games. Let their work do their talking.
