Sony today confirmed that the company is to refund consumers who purchased the PlayStation Network titles Spyro 2 and MediEvil, following the decision to withdraw both games from the PlayStation Store due to the discovery of several technical issues.
As detailed in a recent email, Sony revealed that consumers will receive a full refund to their PlayStation Store wallet over the course of the next seven days, after which both games are due to be removed from the customers download list.
"You will be aware from the description of the product on PlayStation Store that some variation in functionality from the original PSone version is to be anticipated," the company explained. "However there appear to be more significant technical issues."
No announcement has been made regarding the status of Crash Bandicoot 2, which was also pulled from the PS Store as a precautionary measure. Stay tuned for more information as it breaks.

This directly relates to me getting my remastered version of The Fifth Element for free after sending back my original blu-ray. Sony cares about its customers.

This is exactly why you should not be forcing 80GB U.S. version consumers to go online to download games, because if you simply have the game at home already, you would be better off just putting the disc. Anyone else care to underestimate the importance of 100% Backwards Compatibility? All of the great games did not just up and start with the PS3. The original Playstation set the table for a reason. It had great games that gamers from abroad will go back and play anyday.

Sony needs a redesign of the store before they put up a bunch of older games on there. I think I can dig into my PS1 library and get them upscaled, but thanks. Make it easier to navigate.
