Wow, didnt realize there were this many uneducated people here. Yes, gold is a better conducter than the other standard cables.......which are not silver. Silver plated cables would run you a couple hundred bucks. Chances are that these have better copper inside, along with better shielding as well. So overall a better signal. Quality cables do make a difference people. You cant just throw any 2$ HDMI cable on and expect to get a great picture.......despite what most think.  I install Home theater for a living, and have seen first hand what poor grade cables can do to your picture.

I can see that most people in here doesnt even know that gold plated cables gets the absolute best signal transfer than standard silver ones. Not too mention signal strength last longer. Gold plated cables are simply a better quality.

Ok so you take a peice of crap, you gold plate it. Does it make it better, ...no, its still a peice of crap just now, it looks better.

So unless sony upgraded the wireing in the cable, gold tipps will give you a MARGINAL increase in quality.

I can see the point of using gold heads, as its what everyone should be using anyway and I like the material cord that is used.  But the quetion is how much will this cost.  I'm betting that because it bares the sony logo it is going to be quite exensive compared other branded cables.  I'll buy them if there well priced simply because they look good.
