After what is creeping on close to a year, Sony has finally confirmed that it will be releasing the PlayStation Network Cards this spring.

These cards allow gamers that do not possess a credit card, or who do not feel comfortable conducting online transactions, to be able to buy a card filled with either $20 or $50 worth of credit to be used toward any purchase on the PlayStation Store.

News that the cards would finally be hitting the shelves comes from Peter Dille, Sony Computer Entertainment's PlayStation Network Senior VP.

"We are rolling out the PlayStation Cards to retailers nationwide as we speak. They will have the PlayStation Cards in denominations of $20 and $50 starting this spring."

So those have you that have not made any purchases on the PLAYSTATION Store because of this situation, be sure to keep on the look out for those bright orange PSN cards at your local retailer.

This will make a lot of people happy im surprised they did not get this rolling sooner rather then later im sure they would be more impressed by the numbers the PSN would be pulling in had they offered it earlier.

That was about time! No, wait. The PS3 has been out for 1.5 years. They should have gotten this out a long long time ago. And where's the European cards? Don't you guys at Sony realize that most of your costumers are Europeans?

When you Sony employees are eating your fancy dinners at home tonight, I hope you all choke - just a little bit.

It doesn't say that it isn't for Europe, but we Europeans probably will have to wait longer, though I wont be using these anyway.

About frickin time Sony.  All I have is an ATM card and I don't want the hassle of a credit card.  Now I can buy all the games I've wanted for so long.  PixelJunk Monsters, here I come.

Oh and feel free to quote me that these will make it to the shelves the week of Home.
