The Xbox 360 may have enjoyed a sales bump in Japan of late, but some of the nation's foremost commentators still favour Sony. The Computer Entertainment Suppliers' Association has allotted no less than five of the PlayStation titles we saw at the Tokyo Game Show a coveted "Future Award" (thanks Kotaku for the translation).

Nintendo managed another five, while Microsoft scraped away with a pitiful two - one of them multiplatform. Here's the full list:

Idolm@ster - Namco Bandai - PSP
Gyakuten Kenji - Capcom - DS
White Knight Story - Sony - PS3
Star Ocean 4 - Square Enix - Xbox 360
Final Fantasy: Dissidia - Square Enix - PSP
Dragon Quest IX - Square Enix - DS
Resident Evil 5 - Capcom - Xbox 360/PS3
Monster Hunter 3 - Capcom - Wii
428 - Sega - Wii
LittleBigPlanet - Sony - PS3
Yakuza 3 - Sega - PS3
Let's Tap - Sega - DS

Nice to see LittleBigPlanet garnering worldwide acclaim, isn't it?

while i know LBP will help Sony with sales i believe that it wont go as far as "Winning the console war." Good game, a bit TOO over hyped in my opinion. LBP is not on my day 1 purchase list...im going for fallout 3 and farcry 2 (Multiplat i know, but still..). ill rent it to see if i eat my words though.

haha woohoo, the Sony hase the most awards then wii then 3sh!ty.

only strategy for M$ is to keep bribing with mula (and lots of it too),and onl strategy for wii is to release as many things they can that will have the name "wii" in the front.

    strait up PS3 FTW SUCKA'S!!!

Lol, a "pitiful two" To be fair to Microsoff though, they had one platform in the running. Both SONY and Nintendo had each of their's winning something.

If SONY wants lbp to bring results they better do their part and put up some money for heavy advertising.

On topic, lol @ the ds winning more awards than microsoft's 360.

sonys amazing lineup of games, hardware reliability, blu ray,  built in hardware features (HDD and wireless), robust offering on PS store, and free psn are whats going to sell this console despite a higher price tag. a price drop would help obviously but i think if they put more effort into marketing (not enough people know what blu ray and cell mean for games, plus they need to start bragging about psn) and bundle their hardware and software right to make the price more appealing they have alot of potential to win this holiday ( i doubt wii will sell as much as it has in the past theres no worthwhile games for it this holiday, more and more shovelware)
