Sony will deliver "relentless and AAA quality" 2009 line-up

Sony America’s vice president of product marketing, Scott Steinberg, has boasted that the platform holder will deliver an influx of “AAA quality” titles for PlayStation 3 over the course of 2009, promising yet more revelations at this year’s E3 convention.
Speaking to GameDaily, Steinberg commented, “We’re shipping a great lineup and it’s relentless and AAA quality,” adding, “Starting it with Killzone 2, we’re going to arrest the momentum from competitors with titles like MLB 09: The Show, which some are calling the best sports title ever made.”
“Then in summer there’s inFamous and you’ll get to see even more excellent titles at E3. If PlayStation fans thought that we’d rest on our laurels from last year and if competitors thought that we’d punched ourselves out, both are mistaken.”
Steinberg highlighted Killzone 2 as one of the most significant PS3 releases thus far, observing that the Guerrilla Games shooter is likely to sway Xbox 360 owners over to test the waters of Sony’s black box.
“We feel that Killzone 2 is a tremendous exclusive. It’s an exclamation point that demonstrates the distance between the PS3 and other systems. The game is 40 gigs and could not be done on anything else. It will move people from the sidelines, and from what we’ve seen from blogs, will push 360 owners to try out the PS3. I think it’s going to be a major launch for us and this historical PlayStation brand,” he said.

Chiem you just proved youve never played or even looked at any PS3 games at all. Your 360 is an inferior machine with inferior titles. Halo is and allways was weak gears is tolerable but has no story and the AI is litteraly retarded. Not to mention cliffy b is a whiney little b!tch.

Well things have started up very well ....MBLA The Show 09 is the best baseball game to date and Killzone2 is the best shooter of the generation thus far ,an lets not forget some japanese exclusives as Yakuza 3 and Demons Souls ....plus all the multiformat games (SFIV ,RE5 ,etc).And the PSN games with original games as Noby Noby Boy and the wonderful Flower.
The PS3 has a great lineup ,a great free online service and is a great device overall.

Start up the hype train! Chooo choo!!! all aboard!! I can't wait though and im loving this agressive stance by the SCEA VP. Finally, them taking it to the competitor instead of them having to respond to a comment made towards them.
This is strictly my opinion but out of the 2 HD consoles I have to say that the ps3 has the best versatile lineup of exclusives, and once the system gets some rpgs rolling in to balance it out even more... all i can say is wow. Anyone not owning a PS3 at this point is pretty crazy.

@Chiem. The 360 is horrible machine, it lacks in triple A titles, you have the RROD, and you pay for online service. PS3 on the other hand you have loads of triple A titles, free online service, Blu ray player and one of the best multimedia machines. The only 2 games you have is Halo and Gears that are decent but face it who even talks about Halo and Gears anymore hmm lets see NONE

@4,@5, @7 Leave the guy alone. He only states that he does most of his gaming on 360 and that he's disappointed by the games. Maybe he prefers the 360 and in a free world he is entitled to that opinion.

I honestly feel majority of the best games are multiplatform games. Games like Fall Out 3, Oblivion, Resident Evil 5, COD 4 &5, Assassin's Creed. All great games and they all are for both consoles.
I lean more towards PS3 on exclusives because I am a big fan of the MGS series, KZ2 was a great game, Uncharted was a nice action game, and some of the future releases look great like GOW3, FFXIII versus, MAG, Heavy Rain, etc.
On 360 I like Left 4 Dead, Shadowrun, Castle Crashers, and Dead Rising. I think that Halo and Gears are over hyped and I find them too be too unrealistic and boring compared to shooters like COD and KZ2. I like both consoles but lean more towards PS3.

I can only state of what i know from Japan since I live in Tokyo. Starting from March PS3 has been picking up a lot of momentum in sales. Starting with Yakuza 3, BioHazard 5 and last week's Musou Orochi Z. Even with the release of these games, a lot of people who prefers the Xbox or the Wii still states that PS3 has no more AAA titles coming out. Last week's Famitsu kind of changed the situation. The announcement of Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, Gundam Lost War Chronicles, and Atelier Rorona. 3rd party game developers are starting to release games for the PS3 which is a very good thing. When Demon's Soul gets released in other regions its a must buy. Right now Japan has Killzone 2, Blazblue, PS3 Gundam game, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, Atelier Rorona, and of couse the Advent Children with FFXIII demo pack to be released in the next few months. I am glad PS3 is finally starting to shape up.

@1.........I own a PS3 and I somewhat agree with you. I'm pretty bored and sick of FPS's myself so I might pick up KZ2 eventually but, there's a lot of other games that are more interesting to me then that one. Graphics are nice, but that's not everything to me. Honestly so far, I'm not to impressed with Sony's exclusives lineup THIS YEAR with the exception of DC Universe and maybe GOW 3. But, I did love Warhawk, Resistance 1&2, LBP (especially), and MGS4. But, right now, there's actually a lot of 3rd party titles that are reallllly catching my attention. Especially Capcom's games. I'm also actually more interested in the PSN games than the Sony exclusives. But, for what it's worth, at least they're trying to get more exclusive games. Who knows. Maybe by summertime they'll have a lot more cool games.

Need i mention every good game that releases for 360 also releases for PC?(with the exeption of halo 3, which i think is awful but many say otherwise so i mention)....Ps3 not so much, aka if you have a pc and a ps3 you get everything, without having the limits of the 360s crappy resolution capacity, 1200p anyone?

ye ye ye PS3 has a grat library of games. but well face it most BIG third party companies want to sell sell and sell. this my friends make them develop the best games for both consoles. its awin for all parts as it makes both MS and PS3 willing too make great exclusives in other words we need competition to get great games.

OK, theres a couple of things i figuered out about these 2 systems : 1. 360 is more like a toy, its more towards 8 to say 18 year olds and for those families that are doing well off cause if you bought it at launch then its about 50 to 60 bucks a year to play online (if you got he gold) so lets say xbox users that want to play online and have, they have at least spent 100 bucks extra just to play online. They are just lucky cause if HD dvd didn't fail, thats another 200 bucks they had to spend if the wanted that, and some did, lol.
The PS3 is more like a machine than a toy. it can go from 8 year olds to 50 year olds. You can watch blu ray movies in 1080p! You can go online and play online, not to mention all the episodes of everything that is on hulu.com you can watch, oh wait did i mention that its all free?? DUH! No buying extra anything. To the smart person that has a common sense the ps3 would be the best bang for you buck, it has more features than the other 2.
I don't understand the people who say that the 360 is better than PS3??? How??? its mind boggling. Is it the graphics??? Theres more to a game than graphics, it can look pretty but play not so well. 360 users, don't be blinded by the graphics you are being ripped off..seriously

#1 has a good point. The PS3 doesn't have as great of a selection as the 360. I'm not a fanboy and I personally like the PS3 better, but it is true that PS3 doesn't have as many AAA titles. The 360 had Mass Effect, Gears, Halo, and Halo Wars. You really can't deny that the 360 has a better selection of games for now.

lol wow.. You know Chiem... 2 of my friends got a 3crappy. 1 of em is on his 4th F'in console. The other one, after his second... the warranty was expired... He had to either give up on it or pay 200 F'in $ to get it back up. He trashed it with a hammer and bought a ps3. MS has no respect selling UTTER CRAP to consumers. And MORE... their crap sold well because they came out with no competition calling their piece of S**T Next gen when its merely Xbox1.5. It has no future potential, uses dvds and freaking overheats for atleast half of the people who bought it. They only made it through because of their good advertisement. The console blo ws. And it slows the whole gaming community. I'd go further by saying the 360 is an insult to gaming community. Frankly, I'll never buy one because anyway all their so-called exclusives also come out on pc. The console has no nice points whatsoever. It's all lies and filth.

The only thing that will sway more people to buy a PS3 is a price cut. I agree that Sony has the best lineup in 2009. But so far having AAA exclusives hasnt been able to turn things around for Sony yet. Its a desirable system that many people would love to have but the price tag is still too steep for most people. Drop the price and PS3 will be flying off the shelves. Oh and as far as 360 owners jumping ship to PS3 because of Killzone 2? LMAO I seriously doubt it. 360 owners already have lots of good FPS. And I say this as a major Killzone 2 fan. And LOL@ at all the fanboys in this thread lashing out at the 360 like it just ran over their dog. lol
