In a recent interview with Game Informer, Peter Dille, Sony’s Senior VP of Marketing, discussed a number of topics regarding the PlayStation 3. While Sony’s current place in the console market, exclusive PS3 titles and more may interest gamers, the one you’re all dying to hear was indeed included.
While responding to a question about firmware updates, Dille wandered onto the topic of in-game XMB himself:
"As far as in-game XMB access, we know it’s a feature that’s important to our consumers. Because PS3 packs so much advanced technology ‘under the hood,’ it takes some time to implement major, new functionalities, but we are working hard on addressing this feature, as well as continually expand the capabilities and functionalities of PS3."
There you have it – they’re working on it, and it IS coming at some point in the future. It’s been pretty clear that gamers want it, and it seems that they’ll eventually receive it. The last question we have is when. More on this controversial topic soon.
