Follow Rick and his mysterious Terror Mask as he unmercifully tears, cuts and beats his way through denizens of unearthly creatures in an epic adventure to rescue his girlfriend from the clutches of deranged occult figure Dr. West. Embodying the unfiltered, primal aggression of its namesake, Splatterhouse combines visceral, adrenaline-soaked combat with horror elements to deliver an original gaming experience that defies the boundaries of the traditional action category with over the-top gore and shocking new gameplay mechanics. Featuring an original storyline by critically-acclaimed comic book writer Gordon Rennie (Necronauts, Judge Dredd), Splatterhouse takes Rick beyond the mansion as he scours the ends of the world to rescue his beloved Jennifer.

Splatterhouse falls short of classic brawler status, but there's still fun to be had out of dishing out handjobs and experimenting with the range of grisly moves on offer.

- The compelling boss battles
- The frequency of checkpoints. If you die, you sometimes have to go back a long way
- Unrefined combat system and unbalanced A.I.
- The repetitive takedown animations

We recently mentioned that Namco Bandai didn’t have Splatterhouse listed in its E3 lineup. There have been some difficulties in the development process, including a “performance issue” with Bottlerocket and the reassignment of the project. Joystiq pinged Namco for an update and...
Splatterhouse, the bloody action adventure romp coming soon to the PlayStation 3, is a remake of a beat 'em up of the same name released by Namco in 1988. Gamers planning on playing the new Splatterhouse that are hankering for some nostalgic gaming appear to be in for a treat. "Everybody wan...
