Square-Enix has confirmed that Star Ocean: Second Evolution will be released in Europe in spring 2009.

As you might have already heard, Second Evolution is a PSP reworking of Star Ocean: The Second Story, which previously saw release on the original PlayStation in Japan ten years ago. The game later arrived in North America and Europe in 1999 and 2000, respectively.

Square’s press blurb boasts that the title includes "exciting real-time battles that keep players fully immersed in the action," in addition to "brand-new, fully-voiced animated cut-scenes provided by anime powerhouse Production I.G".

A North American release is scheduled for January 2009.
