Square-Enix has nailed down a European release date for Star Ocean: First Departure, confirming that the PSP remake will hit PAL regions on October 24, 2008.
Released in Japan late last year, First Departure is a remake of the original Star Ocean title released on the SNES back in 1996, featuring enhanced visuals, CGI cut scenes as well as all-new playable characters.
The game is scheduled to hit North America on October 21, with an enhanced version of The Second Story, Star Ocean: The Second Evolution, following on January 6, 2009.

^ 21st October. It says at the bottom of the article! Anyway, this is good news. I won't have enough money to buy this on EU release date though becase a) LittleBigPlanet comes out the same day and b) I need to get a replacement PSP from Sony, which costs £50. I'll more than likely purchase this after christmas :)

I hate squareenix for their stupid ports from nes/snes/ps1. It's not "remakes" it's stupid ports with same graphics and gameplay. They want to make some money from air, and do it very well.

@4:
i hope you're not serious. First of all, who cares even if it were a port as this game never came to the states or europe, ever. Second, it IS a remake with updated graphics, new animated sprites, new playable characters, voice-overs, and animated cutscenes. Check your facts on this one dummy, otherwise, I would agree with you for the most part.
