Still trying to make it Home?

According to the Official PlayStation Blog, North American users can now download a specific Home-oriented theme in order to place their application in to be chosen for the Home Beta. However, the blog also stipulates that users won't just be chosen at random.
"By downloading the theme, users are submitting an application to join the PlayStation Home Beta test community. We will be using a variety of criteria including activity on the PLAYSTATION Network to determine eligibility for the Beta community."

This will be a great chance for you PlayStation Network hermits to finally land a spot in Home.

I actually was thinking about leaving my PS3 on till they send out the codes but you coul really screw your system up. I'll leave on throughout the day but not when I'm not home or at night. Getting in the beta is not worth destroying my $500 system.

1) Where are all the Home naysayers?! You know, the guys that say "Who cares anyway?" Oh, I get it. This article is about how you might possibly get it early, so people's true colors come out. They were just sour-graping it. Like I always said. The biggest problem with Home is that when it does go "open" so many people (especially haters) will be trying to download it, people won't get in. THEN they'll come here and complain about it like "Home = Fail".
*
2) Next, I like how we get all these suggestions about how Sony should choose the testers and "reward" people with selection. You might as well be saying "award all the people that have done EXACTLY what I have done!"--Which is exactly what you're saying (#12 and #17). So I'll say it too...
*
3)...Sony should give the beta to the people that have spent the most cash on the PSN. I know I use the PS Store a TON and have bought EVERYTHING (almost). And I'm the type of person that would buy a lot of stuff on Home, so I should get in first. How's that sound? And that's something they can track VERY easily (and do). Trust me, THAT's how it will happen (and it's even implied in the article).

not only do I leave my PS3 on all night long but I've almost completed 300 folds! Ipurchased GT5 download - I'm being eco friendly here and my trophy Lv.is 2.8 damnit I am gonna be peeved if I don't get picked.
and I seriously think we should get trophies for folding@home - I'm wasting power here they've got to give me something!
Do I ever even turn my PS3 off? - oh yeah whenever games crash besides that its on 24/7
this better not be some lottery - PLEASE PICK ME!!
updater
wait a minute are you telling me that only the people who download it off Qore will be submitted, cos I didn't purchase it this month - frankly its kinda cr@p
Question
I downloaded some PSN videos in the store and none of my purchases get annexed on my download list. so if I delete it do I have to pay for it again? does anyone know tha answer?

The first criteria seems that you are not European.
FKUC you Sony!

Like I said. Activity on the PSN. Paying customers are rewarded. That's the way of the world. Honestly though, they are there to make money, aren't they? If you don't like to spend on the PS store because "everything in the world sucks", why should they give you anything?

I have in the past bought a few things from the store, i think the pay for service is actually very good.
My biggest complaint is this regionalization, in a day of fast internet and all things modern it seems slightly archaic to allow only certain regions to be privy or be allowed to download certain things.
I fully concede i was over the top in my first post, and for that i apologize, but i certainly don't apologize for voicing the opinion that Sony Europe takes the p*** out of its Europe fanbase because it certainly does.
But, then the fact of the matter is this is FREE content so perhaps we should all just accept what we get and apply the old adage - don't look a gift horse in the mouth.

I must say that it will be bs that I don't get in. I spend mmoney on psn and online all the time. I really dont buy a game if its not online because most games that are coming out now are only good for online. Even my wife is playing the ps3 all the time. I would like to have the Home beta and always thought big of it, but I know they aren't going to let me in.

Baybuds got a point the European market is the biggest market, I dont understand why you shouldn't serve those who get you paid more--first, it makes sense to me. I'm sure companies have their reasons but I seriously think that the focus should be shifted to Europe now.
A few days ago I was looking at a few PSN titles on wiki:-
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_PlayStation_Network_games
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_PSOne_Classics
I say we should knock down that PSN wall !! and make it a unified service. personally I purchased Spiro - why is it that the US get 1 and EU get 2, what the hecks with that?
(I'm only saying this because I'm moving to a 3rd world country soon and all I know there might not even be PSN support in that region, we should be able to access a unified PSN from where ever)

am i just mad for thinking this, why can't they just move everything to one store?
Just have a simple language selection (that you can change) to allow for the different content.
So if i wanted to and could speak Japanese i could easily download the content that would otherwise be in their store, and likewise if there is something exclusive to the UK the Japanese gamers can download it easily.
Im not talking multiple accounts because thats a hassle, i mean a truly unified ps store.
Surely it would be less administrative work only working on one store?
