Gamespot has been loitering beneath Capcom’s office windows and has learned that Street Fighter IV, the slavishly anticipated fighting game sequel now tearing up Japanese arcades, is down for release on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in North America on February 17.
Thankfully for us backwater types, the publisher has managed to nail down the European release a handful of days later on February 20. No mention has been made of the PC version.
Street Fighter IV reprises many of the series’ old tricks – two-dimensional combat, a largely familiar character roster, classic moves like Chun Li’s billion-kicks-in-one or Ryu’s iconic fireball – but stirs in lush three-dimensional visuals, new super moves and counters.
The word from the arcades is that it’s a real treat, so clear some space on your schedule next February.
