THQ has confirmed that it has cancelled development of the upcoming PlayStation Portable version of Destroy All Humans! Big Willy Unleashed.
Speaking to IGN this week, a company representative stated, “Basically, the PSP version was cancelled because of control issues.”
“DAH! Big Willy Unleashed was designed by [a] Wii developer specifically for the Wii. When it was ported over to the PSP, the controls simply didn’t translate well, and instead of pushing out the product with translated controls, it was cancelled.”
The fourth instalment in the Destroy All Humans! Series, Path of Furon, is currently planned for release on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in September 2008.

Hm. Cancelled games on PSP. I think this is the PSP's final ride. It's a shame, too. Developers under used that thing. The PSP is an incredible small device, and I love mine (not hacked, by the way). They should just keep making Metal Gear and Syphon Filter games on it for the next 4 years. I'd buy them.

Would have been nice, but i'm happy they cancelled it and didn't give us a half as s game just to cash in on unsuspecting gamers.

wutever,im glad they cancelled cuz we have awsome b@dazz games and we dont need some half azzed one... plus it most likely would of done cr@py in sales (downloaded or not bought at all).
and path of the furon... the trailers show that its gunna be a pile of horse dookie. The visuals BLOW! and the gameplay looks the exact same as the older ones with very limited abilities and roaming to scouwer.
cr@p cr@P and more cr@p this game is.

^^^^^^^^ heh heh I take it you did not really think much of this game ^^^^^^^^^^^^
On topic I suppose no title is better than an extremely poor title.

That's probably the best for everyone that they did that. So we don't have to live with such bad games.

Odium that's stupid. one silly game takes a dive and you;re trying to call the PSP a dead system? you;re like the people who called the PS3 dead after the first month. There are still numerous developers happily producing games for it,just because they arnt the ones you want dosent make it dead.
I wish MORE developers canceled their PSP ports because of control issues, it's just that some ports wont work well on it, and they should try to code games that use what the PSP has rather than always just trying to squeeze the console version into a UMD.

I own a PS3, PS2 and DS and would love to get a PSP, but why on earth didn't they put a second analog joystick on it? It is my belief that by not doing that one thing it will go down as one of the largest blunders in video game history. I believe that "if" they had that second stick sales would be close to double what they are now. Why Sony... why?
Please don't make that mistake with the PSP2? Come to think of it why not come out with a cool phone/PSP system.

This isn'tthe first blow from THQ this year. Anybody remember Frontlines Fuel of War?
Looked awesome, but never made it to PS3 coz THQ were in serious trouble. They lost control of the studios. Now this?
Surely these companies spend time figuring out control systems for games before developing them?
I'm shocked at the poor PR these ocmpanies constantly create fo themselves.

@14
yeah i remember now.. i never understood the reasoning behing THQ's Frontlines game not going to ps3... it must of sucked cuz its gone with the wind now and no one even cares about it... ALOT of people forgot about that game (as most 360 games).

What i don't understand is that they cancelled it for the PS2 when it was only a few weeks away from release. Surely by then it was close to completion, so why not just release it? THQ is starting to gain rank on my schit-list. Cancelled: 1 PS3 game, 1 PS2 game, 1 PSP game. What the heII is going on over there?
And truth be told, PotF is looking terrible. It's not what one would consider "current" gen.
