Ted Price talks Resistance 2 and Killzone 2

Insomniac Games President, Ted Price, sat down with MTV Games for an interview about the upcoming sequel to the 2006 PlayStation 3 launch title that covered everything from the 60-player online modes to competing with Killzone 2, and even some Halo 3 was thrown in the mix.
When asked how Resistance 2 compared to Halo 3 content wise, Ted Price stated that, "We were not looking at 'Halo 3' or looking to one-up anybody at all, other than we wanted to push multiplayer content. With multiplayer we saw an opportunity to up the game to 60 players with not a whole lot of pain on our end."
He continued to speak about why they decided to add online co-op to Resistance 2 by stating that, "The online co-op for us was a result of getting so many damn complaints about not having online co-op in ‘Resistance 1‘ that we knew we had to do it." A pretty blunt statement, but it's nice to see developers taking criticism from their consumers.
Finally, MTV games asked, "A lot of people were thinking 'Killzone 2' was going to be the big Sony FPS for the end of ‘08. This does too. So is this going to be a head-to-head thing? Have you guys gotten any calls from guys in Amsterdam [where the game is being made]?"
And Price kept things pretty clear by saying that, "Actually, we’re close to those guys. Our engine director was just over at Guerilla taking a tour. And we’ve had them in our offices. There’s definitely a friendship between the two studios. And we are both interested in making sure there’s a separation between the games in terms of theme and gameplay."
Whether you decide to pick one of these games or both of them, it's pretty clear that both of these titles are going end up being, if not already, "must-haves" for any PlayStation 3 gamer.

i have a lot of time for Ted Price, he is a guy who makes a lot of sense when he talks, i never ever liked FPS games until i played Resistence , and it was the story that hooked me, cant wait to see where no.2 goes, the concept art look amazing, nice to see that companies cant still be competitive as well as friendly, with their relationship with guerilla, cant wait for KZ2, just got to figure outhow t pay forall the amazing games coming this year forthe PS3

I plan on buying both the day that they come out. I think with these games we will get a glimpse of what advancements have been made in the programming of the system. We will have a direct comparison with the launch title and the second generation version for the first time (COD doesn't count since it was multi-platform and different devs.)

I don't think Killzone 2 and Resistance 2 need to compete, there both PS3 exclusives and will both be amazing games. Im going to buy both, because i know that even though there both FPS there both going to be completly different in each other. Insomniac Games is my favorite developer, but Guerilla still has a great game on their hands.

I can't believe that people actually think that there is going to be "competition" between Resistace 2 and Killzone 2. PS3 gamers will be picking up both Killzone 2 and Resistance 2, anyone that doesn't is a fool, it's that simple. If you like FPS, you will be picking up both shooters.
I think that Resistance 2 "might" sell a little faster than Killzone 2, but Killzone 2 is definanlty going to be the most visual and graphical. Resistance 2 will probably have the stronger online mode because I haven't heard anything about Killzone 2's Multiplayer other than it will have it in the game.

www.YourPS34free.com/index.php?ref=4755645 This link will guide you through the EASY process of getting a brand new retail Playstation 3! Here is how it works! First and foremost this is NOT like those other offers you see all over the web, where you are required to sign up for a million "free" offers that end up taking forever and costing you a bunch of money and a headache. You click this link and sign up for their referral program. That’s it! Once you sign up for your ONE required offer you use the link they provide you and post it on forums, or send it to friends, and if someone uses that link to sign up and complete one offer of their own, you get a referral. Here is the cost breakdown of the referral system. 8 Referrals = New retail 40gb PS3 10 Referrals = New retail 60gb PS3 12 Referrals = New retail 80gb PS3 and ONE game of your choice 14 Referrals = New retail 80gb Ps3 and two games YOU CHOSE (includes new releases like Uncharted: Drake's Fortune or Ratchet and Clank Future etc…) Plus many more PS3 offers and others including up to $475 in CASH I have been a member for 3 days and have 10 completed referrals on my account, well on my way to my chosen 14 (Already enough for a 60gb or 40gb PS3). I also have 250 people, who have signed up; if any 4 of them complete an offer I have my Ps3 and two games. It can take up to 3 days for a completed offer to process, so I may have already reached my goal. The company even covers shipping and handling so there is no hidden costs of ANY KIND. This website even has you create an account so you can track your progress the entire way through, and once your package ships, they supply a UPS tracking link. It is extremely user friendly I recommend you research this company online, as they are proven legitimate and not in any way a scam. EGM magazine actually did a story on them 2 years ago to see if they were legit and did in fact get a free system, so they proved it worked! The way it is possible is these sponsor's pay this company money for referring people to them, and using a portion of that money, buy you a PS3 as an incentive for helping them advertise. It is a pretty nice scheme, but it results in me getting something for free so I don't care. This will be my third free thing to get from this company; I have a 360 elite and iPhone for the cost of about 5 dollars. Enjoy your free system, free isn't a bad deal for a great console and a Blu-Ray player! www.YourPS34free.com/index.php?ref=4755645
