According to Kotaku, From Software’s Tenchu 4 will be coming to Japanese PlayStation Portables on February 12.
The game has already been released for the Wii earlier this year, probably in aid of much katana-like Wiimote gesturing and awkward ninja somersaults across living room carpets. We say "probably" because we haven’t had a chance to try it out ourselves yet – the Wii game’s out in North America on March 31, with a European release following sometime in Q1 2009.
Hopefully the PSP version won’t be long in following suit. Given the traditional button-based controls, it’s said to be an experience far closer to "classic" Tenchu. Players guide the scarred Rikimaru and nimble Ayame through feudal Japan, taking out patrolling guards via a combination of ninja traps and old-fashioned, in-your-face stealth fatalities.
