Electronic Arts has announced that the next instalment in its popular Tiger Woods franchise, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09, is currently in development and will be released in North America on August 26, 2008.
The upcoming sports sim promises to include a host of new features over its predecessor, including the appearance of Wood’s personal coach, Hank Haney, along with a plethora of new gameplay mechanics.
Mike Taramykin, Executive Producer for the game, commented, "Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 is the most authentic golf video game on the market, and we’re excited to bring an immersive experience to the masses.”

The game will also boost an improved online component, allowing for up to four players to compete simultaneously, allowing gamers to attempt each hole at the same time rather than having to wait.
Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 is due for release on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2, PlayStation Portable, Wii and Xbox 360.
