According to the latest Internet rumours, the PlayStation 3 version of upcoming THQ shooter Frontlines: Fuel of War has been canceled.
Reports originally surfaced through a number of North American retailers, who allegedly received notification of the game’s status over the weekend via email.
Developer Kaos Studios has yet to officially confirm or deny these reports, although a senior member of the company’s official forum commented, “Again, please do not overreact to rumours or, like with release dates, take what retailers say as truth. The timing of this was unfortunate as it was the weekend but there will be actual info shortly."
Set in the year 2024, Fuel of War depicts a world where the depletion of oil and other natural resources has reached critical level, throwing the globes nations into chaos. Rising tension between the East and West result in the formation of two major alliances, the Western Coalition and Red Star Alliance, who ultimately inaugurate full-scale war as the earth’s last remaining oil supply runs dry.
Stay tuned for more information as soon as we get it.

Frontlines development team has assured the gaming world that this title is not canceled for the PlayStation 3. It has just been delayed, as usual.

I certainly hope this is not true. Even though I was not planing on buying it, the game does look pretty decent.
It doesn't look good if publishers are now starting to cancel PS3 games that they have already finished developing. I mean they just have to cover the marketing costs - so dont stop now THQ.

good, that game blows. i downloaded the 360 demo and it was complete trash. they should cancel the whole game. cod4 has set the bar to high for frontlines. also w/ all the ps3 shooters coming, who cares(killzone 2) comes to mind and im still engaged in cod4 heavily. im not mad, just stating the facts.

@ Cuttboy - I was looking forward to this game, but I have a 360-owning mate who said exactly the same as you about the demo. Really dumb AI, apparently - my mate said he was standing right next to an enemy, who didn't seem to realise he was there!

I played the demo........ I wouldn't be sad if they cancelled it. Alot of shooters nowaday seem to lack the visceral impact of shooting people or being shot. So just like in this game, turok, soldier of fortune it looks like people are running around and when they are shot there is some sad animation of them falling over or it looks like they are falling over their shoe laces.
I am not a really violent guy but this ragdoll reactions to being shot just seem to weaken the experience.

Actually Frontlines is/was aimed at MAY for PS3, so it's actually not that close to release anyway. If this is true then I am truley disappointed in KAOS, and will not be buying Frontlines at all- not even for PC.

Actually, it doesn't matter how good this game is, the real problem is that this could be the SECOND game that THQ has cancelled for the PS3. (Saints Row being the first) If this continues, it could be a sign that publishers are losing faith in the ps3.

naw developers and publishers aren't losing faith in the ps3, microsoft is just willing to up the dough for overrated games and sony isnt. kudos to sony because i wouldn't pay for trash either. frontlines is pure garbage and they should cancel the whole damn game. they know that when killzone comes out, frontlines had no chance, it cant compete w/ prologue, mgs4, gta, devil may cry, killzone, etc. just try the demo and you will see, they simply haven't gotten great raving reviews and before they waste anymore money on this waste of space, they just cancelled the game for ps3. they might sell 200,00 total, they wont recoup developement costs but judging from the demo, this game shoudn't have costed much to make anyway.

LOL, the description, "inaugurate full-scale war" thats so phuck!ng ret@rded. yeah lets go full scale war when oil and suplies are short, cuz we even have enough oil to fule all our tanks, jets, and helicopters. do you even know how much fuel one abrams tank takes? Its like 4 miles per gallon. more to the point, if it even did come out, i would not buy it. Its the most stupid and unoriginal story line i'v ever heard and it must be to just make a quck buck.
p.s whats up with all this stupid cencoring?

Don't comment if you don't care about this game and/or think it sucks. If you don't have anything nice to say then don't say anything at all. Is it really that difficult to keep your negative comments inside? Way to add insight!
What does suck is the delay for people who actually want this game. I'm starting to believe people when they say "DelayStation 3" instead of "PlayStation 3." It was a bit annoying at first...but now it has a bit of truth.

I'm surpised and kind of pi$$ed off that a lot of you stupid fanboys went on to say that its "crap" before rumours were confirmed. Its NOT cancelled.. so does this then mean we can see a copy of this in your game collection after release? Probebly.. if you think its crap then dont post.. if you dont then you have a right to say you're disappointed... for the first time ever I think im a bit ashamed to be part of this community. I love my PS3 just as much as the next man and I love the PS3 exclusives - but im not gonna go on a little hiss-fit defense whenever i hear some 360-started rumours of a cancellation.

I keep trying to tell you people not to just blindly listen to every reported rumor that comes out. And yet every time people rush to judgment, And you all beleived it was cancelled based on a stinking Gamestop rumor on a g*dd4mn XBOT FORUM!!!!
It dosent freaking matter if the game sucks ot not, the point is you keep lettting yourselves get suckered by rumors started by the opposition to make us all feel defensive. Everyone jumped on the "this game sucks" bandwagon to minimize the dissapointment of the PS3 loosing a game before it was even confirmed that we did!

like i stated b4, i dloaded the 360 version demo and it was complete garbage and i'll reiterate, they should cancel the whole game because it is complete trash. i played 10 minutes of the demo and deleted it. cod 4 has set the bar to high for this crap and frontlines has no chance on 360, pc, or ps3. now do I sound like a fanboy or someone who really thinks this game is trash. so it's the delaystation, that's funny. how about out of 10 of us at my job who own 360's, 8 of them are at the microsoft repair center. so what good is having a game when your system is being repaired. true story my buddy got his back on Friday, it got the rrod today.

Imagine that. Another delay. Is it just a new fad to delay the PS3 version, done or not?

WHY? because alot of dev companys don't want to take ages trying to create games and lose money trying to develop games on the ps3’s complicated cell.
