Midway Games has announced that the PlayStation 3 version of Unreal Tournament III will be shipped to retailers on December 10 in North America.
After the delay of the PlayStation 3 version, Epic Games boss Mark Rein promised Unreal Tournament 3 would still be released in 2007. And about a week ago, Rein announced Unreal Tournament 3 for the PS3 had gone gold and it would probably be released on December 11.
Midway confirmed Rein's words, so the game will indeed be out on December 11. This is only for North America though, with Epic stating last week that UT3 will be released in Europe some time in early 2008.
Stay tuned for more coverage on Unreal Tournament 3 as it becomes available.

Playing this on PC now - good fun! but I really can't see this being as big on PS3 or Xbox 360.
Performance wise Ive cranked up the quality AF at 8X and getting just over 70 Frames per second at 2560 x 1600.
If I wind it back to say 1280 x 1024 I get about 150 FPS - which is where I'll play it when getting competitive. It is a twitch game so consoles are at big disadvantage. The PC players will benefit from more updates so its going to be perfect 12 months out.
